This game was introduced 20+ years ago. 22 to be exact. You had a power meter and then a moving dot on the ball. You click and drag the power meter then release to initiate the dot to move on the ball. Click to hit when the dot is where you want it to be on the ball. Very top for top spin. Left of center to draw. Center for straight. Right for fade. Bottom for backspin and every variation inbetween.

I would LOVE to see this type of meter on WGT. I think it would be pretty difficult to create a cheat program for this type of meter also.

Like I said 22 years ago they could top spin, draw, fade, back spin!!!

Played many hours of this game.

Go to about 2:15 if you don't want to see it all. It has the meter.

    Links put that to shame.

    This was on every screen....

And this is what you got when you wanted to set your shot up. This would make the issue of UELs moot.

I had Links 2001 Mac version. I don't believe (or remember) it being that sophisticated on that version. I do remember you could change the ball position, forward or back, and the club face. hmmm maybe you could.... I may have to dig out those old floppy disks, find my USB drive and see if it will install on one of my Macs lol

They got real good at the realism but we have to concede that it was a program installed on our computers. The swing meter was the same for everybody, too,  with no speed adjustments and I don't ever remember it skipping or stalling. Everybody used the same clubs and balls. Don't think going that far would fly here though. LOL

Heh, I'd be happy with just making the spin dot more useful.  :-)

Get rid of the stupid UL's and  give us the ability to shape shots other than missing the ding. How hard can that be????
