Gifting Clubs

    I tried to gift my wife a level 81 G20 driver last night and it said I could not gift this club because she  is not at level 81 yet. I have seen many players using clubs that are above their current level. So my question is,,,,,Is this a new development or rule of the game?

    It's been that way since I started (2 years).

    Two other possibilities if the user has been a member for a long time.

    1. The clubs were purchased before the change to the level system was implemented.

    2. Right after the change to levels was implemented WGT opened up the pro shop for one weekend because they arbitrarily promoted many to tiers where we were unable to even reach the fairways in the tiers they put us in. We didn't earn our tiers through our play; they just stuck us there. They dropped the level requirements for one weekend, allowing us to purchase higher level clubs that allowed us to continue to play.

    Either way the member would have to be a long time member that hasn't played many rounds. Otherwise they would have "leveled-up" to their clubs by now.

    By my second anniversary I had learned not to give my wife vacuum cleaners, pots & pans, or a set of Craftsman sockets.

     She is not one to wear much jewelry because she is the most beautiful person I have ever known. The gift was to celebrate her rising to the Master Level  and I figured she would need a touch more distance from the tees.

     

    I am gifting her the Level 77 Nike Putter since she also reached Level 77...now to find some giftwrap

    Forget the gift wrap. Put it in a pretty Pink bag along with Holly Sonders.
