Really like the game so far.  One question I have is about ball striking distance.  I just reached level 7 under "Hack" and I've noticed that my max driving distance is still 225.  Is there a point where my player will drive/hit the ball farther, or is that only done by upgrading the clubs?  It's hard to play 450+ Par 4 holes only driving 225 yards.

We all started this game, like you, in the same boat.  Eventually you will need to upgrade your driver for longer distance off the tee.  Your player cannot do that by him/herself... other than learning a few techniques about backspin and topspin in certain wind conditions... and learning where the best forward bounce on various fairways is located.

Longer drivers and longer golf balls are probably the two most important additions for big improvement in scoring,  Initially.  After that better wedges.

You can earn credits to pay for better equipment on here by doing surveys and watching ads, also by making use of the special offers. Click where it says Get Credits above. :-)

Well that answers my question.  I used to play ShotOnline, where the player would gain physical attributes such as ball striking power as levels increased.

So the tiers that are listed really don't benefit my golfer much other than gaining credits after advancing to each new tier?  And I understand that they also help during tournaments to put people together with similar skill.  Is that right?

Moving up in tiers moves you back to longer tees and speedier greens.

With the exception of the graphics and the fact that this game uses equipment/courses from real life you'll find the game play and "career" experience of ShotOnline more realistic than here.

Yeah in free tourneys you play against players of your same tier but dont expect to earn enough credits to upgrade anything that way... The best of this game in comparision with ShotOnline are the tournaments and online matchs, really competitive game, I have played ShotOnline and I loved the level up sistem, the rewards, and all the different things that you can buy but the community its kinda dead, thas why I have quit playing it, here you can find much more challenges, but less variety in the pro shop and no skill sistem.

I just thought to myself that it only makes sense that as I gain experience, and ascend to new tiers and levels, that I gain the ability to drive the ball farther, and control my shots more as in Shot Online.  I can't realistically see myself buying a club now that would allow me to drive the ball 60+ yards further.  That would seem to come with experience rather than with different clubs.  That being said, I still like this game very much.  I just needed to understand how to progress through the game while only being able to drive the ball slightly more than 200 yards.

Although I must say that 240-250 is about as far as I can drive it in reality so that does make this game very real for me.  :)

Hi and welcome to the game. As already stated regarding tiers/levels I have nothing to add. But if I were you, just play using the starters equipment until at least mid level 30s. Anything you buy now will not last long as you move through the tiers. So a driver than can drive 240-250 will be fine for a while but you would need to upgrade again when you become Master tier. I always recommend you start with a couple of good wedges - from your tees this is where you can reap more rewards than a driver.

As said, try earning credits and accumulate them until you can get decent gear that will last, and try and learn as much as you can in the interim. There are great tips in the forums, just search or ask if you are unsure on any aspect.
