I follow the meter with a slightly movement of my head, like headbanging a song following the tempo but not so violent :P

Works if you're listening to the right music. ;-)

He hits the Ding with his eyes closed

Water hazards give balls back to him

He once made a par.........just to see what it felt like

He once scored a 19 on 18 holes, because an 18 would have been showing off

Bollox asks him for putting advice

The deviation deviates in his favor

WGT pays him to play with their virtual equipment

............................he is the most interesting man in the world.

Tarheels has to be talking about Pecos Bill. He once rode a tornado; when it couldn't buck him off it just rained out from under him. He taught Chuck Norris everything Chuck knows, but not everything Bill knows.

Another "realistic" part of this game...   don't grip too hard

(on the mouse that is) ;-)

A relaxed grip where I barely feel the mouse button below my trigger finger helps me.  I try to just use the finger tip too.

And I concentrate on the ding itself, I don't follow the meter on its way there.

I miss the ding a lot... so take my advise with BIGGG... grains of salt!

    I count like so....

    And a 1 ... 2 ....3.... 4 (Click)

I do this for all my meter speeds... I ALWAYS allow the meter to go through at least ONCE...

^ That is the best advice I can give. BE PATIENT.... I hardly ever get meter jumped because I allow it to cycle through a few times when I feel like the meters acting up...

ALSO: Just like in real golf take it as a practice swing.

Hold the mouse... But take your finger trigger off... Count... and a 1 ... 2 ... 3... 4... (Fake click)...

As far as how to follow the meter... I actually follow the meter until I see the ding roll into the corner of my eye... by then my count has reached 4 and I CLICK away!

AGAIN... I don't hit the ding often enough... I don't even ding my putter nearly enough...

Hope this works better for you then it works for me!

ONE MORE NOTE: I also use starter balls for 9 holes before I play any sort of event. It helps slow the meter a lot when I put the Callaways back in the bag!

    bubbadork:

Further, WGT does not know when the mouse was clicked. The click is detected by the system, then placed into a queue for the program that the system presumes that the click was intended for.

The program in question services all the events that are in its queue. These can be mouse events, keyboard events, timer, and a plethora of others. There is certainly no guarantee of how soon the ding click will be processed.

Bubba is right about the system placing your mouse click into a queue and processing it based on the priority the system gives it. A mouse with an adjustable polling rate like the Razer Death Adder i use can be set as higher. To those of us who aren't so technical basically setting the polling rate higher is telling the system " Hey my mouse has priority over everything else" making the system process your mouse click sooner.
