If you use Chrome I find it excellent in Full Screen mode.  Tried the other's but in full screen chrome so smooth, just end up using it as it's my usual browser any I guess.

Maxthon 3 is good too but I don't like its smaller full screen mode.

It only seems to have a smaller full screen mode with you.

With Maxthon everyone has letter box as you call it.At least an inch black edge on each side. Comodo Dragon does not.It fills the entire screen side to side.

I use the same monitor at work and home, I use IE on both machines, one has the black bars and the other gives me a full screen, the only difference is the operating system, any explanations?

I use Maxthon 3 some (IE some also), and with Maxthon and it fills my 27 inch screen complete side to side, however, i do have an inch at top and bottom. I'm running XP. I've tried it on Windows 7 on my laptop, and it does have black space on each side. So, the operating system has something to do with how the display is handled.

If the aspect ratio of the scene is not the same as the aspect ratio of your display then you will have space at the top/bottom (or sides) or lose part of the scene at the top/bottom (or sides) or have distortion (stretch/compression) introduced to make up for it.

With some operating systems you can select to maintain aspect ratio or to maintain display scaling. Your system may not be set to the mode you would prefer. Consult your help files or Google for your particular system.

Wrong! It does have smaller "full screen" mode, one of the reasons I don't use it.
