WGT wants your balls and they use tricky means..I have many examples:
In Whistler, I lost a ball by simply pulling it a bit with left wind. landed in weeds like 15 yds of where I aimed....Used a wedge shot(50 yarder) aimed at the fairway and the ball went backwards into a stream of water that was behind the avatar, maybe no more than 3 yards...
In Congressional 11, once my ball landed in some weeds to the right of the fairway. Think I used the wrong club to get it out because the ball moved less than two yds from where it was and .. landed in a wet zone next to the avatar, lost ball.
Another thing, we lose distance for may reasons, one of them is missing the ding. Twice in hole 18 Congressional ...I am around 219 yds to the fu... hole.. have a wind from left to right(12 mph) as a rule, I tend to avoid aiming at the water with left wind, because it is a magnet for balls... aimed in the fringe left.. that 12 mph wind has enough power to move the ball at least 10 yds to the right..ok?.. so I know meter can be slow or fast depending on where water is..wait to click but still pulled it slightly... ball went left of where I aimed and only 210 yds with R11 3i.... That fu... hole is like 30 feet below!!! In another game had the opposite with wind slightly in my face. This time I was around 231 yds, with many feet below...I assumed that I could use 225 full backspin and the backspin and wind would work.. When I clicked my meter went about half inch passed to the right... but ball still flew over 235....landed on a kind of downslope where there is a bunker behind, got propelled and went into water....
In Olympic... my 210 yarder usually goes over that distance, as much as 220 or more... but when I was 215 to the hole with tailwind, the same hole I always get 220 and more.. dinged and it landed at 200.....in another my 225 went less than 210, ..yeah, a little pull, there was the bunker.... When I have used full backspin against the wind in the same hole it can go 219, but when I really need it I lose so much distance? I guess that missing the ding is meant to make you lose distance, but is it only when you don't need it?
With the push I got at Congressional I could have easily lost 50 yards... It was a HUGE push... not a push, a HUUUUGE push but ball went against wind and defied everything... but a simple pull with left to right wind and then I do lose distance, wind stops blowing and I lose a ball. ...
There are many ways to steal... WGT knows them all. Anyway, love and hate the game.
