so what is the expected distance here?

    113 to flag

    approx 5ft downhill

    120 - 9i - used

    4 dot distance callaway balls

    about 93% power

mishit shot - about 3mm passed ding line

at what distance is the ball expected to pitch?

Should have gone 117.06 yards Can't wait to see what really happened.

Did you use the 120 yard PW, or the 135 yard 9 iron?... Or are you not sure?

This alone says expect anything. Choking and missing is the worst combination for deviation. I wouldn't be surprised if you said it went in the hazard.

I don't want to ruin the fun of the reveal but I know the result of the shot (not difficult to find). That's the reason why I asked my question...

Also, because I think many of these type of queries regularly blamed on WGT's inconsitencies can be put down to human error... Oily in this case may have had an odd result (with dinged 120 PW I reckon the ball should have pitched about pin-high - admittedly choking, plus a 3mm miss will lead to problems)... or it may simply have been the wrong club...

I actually thought the result was fairly accurate given that the hole is a couple of yards downhill and  that wind only knocks about 2-3 yards off. The miss late explains the off line and the 4 dots adds to the length.

I'd say it carries 118 yards and stops on back fringe.

Guessing that you used the 9 iron when you were thinking PW.

the above should read 120 pw

it was the 120 yard club that was originally selected by the caddy - i rarely look at club number on here - must have thought it was like my 120 9i :)

drive was held up by wind, 3wd was held up by wind, yet a choked down 120 yard club mishit into wind from the fairway flies through the back.

i beginning to find the same thing on a few holes on this course and on oakmont as well

i ask in this section, as i'm not sure if it's a bug or me, given that i rarely play now and play by "feel" more than number crunching.

i expected that shot to pitch short of th pin, do i need to go back to the yardage school :)

FWIW, I would have hit a fbs PW (goes 115 before wind with Cally spinner) and missed a little less but on the same side. That approach plays downhill and short gives a decent uphill putt if you're wrong. :-)
