Why do shots in these forms of match not effect your playing statistics. Surely, holes in one, birdies, eagles et al are harder to make in match play conditions than when your just playing stroke play when you have much more time to decide on your shot. Just a thought

It's an "all or nothing" issue, other than strokeplay on the Par3 course which affects all stats except for the average.

Most impact is on the 9 & 18 hole "best round".

It's because most match-play games don't last for 9 holes.

Plus in Alt Shot you don't hit the shots to make those birdies, you hit every other shot.  You don't get credit for a double eagle when your tour pro playing partner hits from his tees leaving you a 195 yard in and you make it for example.

One question? How are eagles any harder in match play that normal stroke play? Most of us don't take over 30 to 40 seconds to take a shot in any format. I probably take more time taking my shots in match play and A/S than i do in single stroke play because in match play 1 shot could mean the difference between a win and a loss. And in A/S your partner depends on you to either make a good approach shot to set his up for an easier birdie putt or depends on you to make a birdie putt.

The stats can't count because in AS you don't hit every shot and in MP putts can be conceeded. Real Golf stats are only counted in rounds where a player tees off every tee and holes out every putt.
