    Hi,

I've looked 12 screens deep in this forum for an answer to this but can't find any such advice.

I've been playing since last August and have so far enjoyed playing for the sake of playing, but now I want to focus on getting better. I'm currently stuck on Pro at level 53, and now I want to advance. My question is: how best to do this?

I've been playing only ranked stroke-play rounds, 9 or 18 holes depending on how much time I have available. I upgraded my clubs a while back (Ping K15 woods, irons & hybrid; Cleveland CG16 wedges in 56 & 64 lofts and a Taylor-made Ghost Spider putter ) and am playing mostly Max Slow-meter balls.

Should I be playing a different format? Should I be spending time and credits trying different equipment? Since there's no practice range or putting green, is there some way to practice? Or should I get all zen and simply go with things as they are?

    Any sage advice is appreciated.

    Rico

I've just started 2-3 weeks ago and immediately I knew off the bat (or club) what would help me.

    Math shapes!

I'm into the basic math and I envision math shapes on screen. So then I act as if i'm doing math in class, but on the tee and next thing I know; boom! Closest to the hole!...but without a hole in one ...

    :)

You do the right things, you have good equipment. No need to spend more credits IMHO.

You'll need some results below 35 / 70 to advance. More practice (in ranked rounds) will hone your skills and reduce your scores.

Playing with others may show you new things.

    Most of all: Have fun!

You can try playing match play against a higher tier  that might help good luck.

I wouldn't be spending your money on the Granny balls. You need to get used to a faster meter.

Agree with Courtney 100%. For now you could use WGT G13S's or WGTG13D's. Also I would ditch the hybrid & go with 3 wedges, evenly spaced say 60-80-100 yards

Nothing wrong with your equipment - it is fine for your level and beyond but I also agree a third wedge rather than the hybrid will pay dividends.

I am not sure of your age or reflexes, so I will not write off the Max ball if you are happy with it, but there are much cheaper and better balls available, just not with such a slow meter but should be handled easily with your clubs.

Sadly your game just needs practice, especially trying to increase your GIR and your scrambling and putting. These are the areas your scoring is falling apart. And practice is the only way, so take notes of what works etc and try all sorts of shots, punch from the fairways, try all the options around the green and try options regarding spin.

If you want a hit just ask when I am green and we can talk through some shots.

You should play a lot of practice rounds on the Par 3 course.  The bottom line to get better is to hit your shots close to the hole and make putts.  To practice driving the ball is not as important because that will come naturally.
