If WGT made the course conditions a little harder, I think we would forget all about VEM!

Enjoy James! Use your short game to combat VEM. : )

Thanks Richard.  I combated VEM with my foot wedge.  37.

    +1 Tyrone Good post!.

VEM exists thats it deal with it dont let it stop you from learning. Just play the best you can and learn from your mistakes, even from VEM. You have the right mindset!

@Lonnie, i think those examples you give are not VEM but miscalculations the game makes. When a 240yrd wood only goes 210 that isn't VEM, its a flaw. The game just miscalculates. Just a zero or a one in the wrong place and suddenly your 3 wood acts like a 3 iron. There is a huge amount of calculations going on, some will be wrong.

It could also be your game client already sees the shot as a 3w but on the server side it is still in 3i mode.

    Imo VEM is more subtile.

Roots,  I think I disagree with your hypothesis about calculations "going wrong" and VEM being 'subtle'.
I've been playing a lot of CTTH to fine tune my understanding of my RktBldz irons - you know - same distances, same elevations - just different winds. In 4 rounds at Celtic Manor today, on the 3rd hole with the same club (5I),  hit within +/- 1 bar of the center marker, same amount of power (100%), slightly different amounts of  "back spin" got the following net results :-4 yds, -1 yd, +20 yds, + 30 yds.   The winds btb varied between 2 to 4 mph.

Now, I lasted a whole semester in Engineering at college 42 years ago, but there is nothing subtle about the ball traveling an extra 16 to 26 yards!

So I attributed those odd results to VEM and, on the 5th round, repeated the club, power, back spin & aim and came up1 yd short.

    Subtle, I don't think so!

As for calculations "going wrong", maybe - but that thought must be keeping our astronauts awake at night!

Love it!! Here in North East Pa, we have a yearly 9 hole winter tournament on the ice and snow at Lake Wallenpawpack every January. Tons "O" fun I may add.
