can you give me a reason why this game is insistent on having a player put from a right angle to the hole. I know there are clinics, but I can't see how a real player is to line up the ball as they would on a real putting surface.

    hi

because we do not have cgi in game, we can't have perfect examples. All angles come from HD shots of the course, so if we don't have the perfect shot, we have to do with what's there. Sometimes, yes, it does make an awkward shot.

In reverse view of the putt...  The game might give you the Line straight to hole...  then you can line up your shot from there

Also if you go to game options advanced and click yes on avatar angles your avatar will be better aligned with the hole when you putt.

The OP wants the game made easier but the top scores suggest that it should be made harder.

Its only Kiawah you get those awkward 45 degree angle putts instead of straight behind the cup, the other courses are pretty spot on.

Here's a suggestion for WGT which might make putting a little bit easier: If the best available photo puts the avatar way over to one side of the screen, don't align the grid square to the camera POV. Always display the grid so that one set of lines is parallel to a straight line from the center of the ball to the center of the cup. It's pretty darn annoying to try to figure out the breaks when the grid is cockeyed, relative to the ball position!
