I'm seeing so many people average well under par and I cant figure out how? I seem to stay around an average of 72. What do you have to do to increases the skill of my player?

Also, how do you increase your distances on all your clubs?

You average about 58% greens in regulation and about 20 ft from the hole.  Getting the GIR up to 70% to 75% would be a big help. And it's tough having to make 20 footers for birdie so that needs to drop.

So you've got to either ding more or your calculations have to be better or both.

Bilko's wind and distance calculator is very good. (just search Bilko) and there is the WGT Caddy to help with distance control (Pro version is well worth the $3)

You can't increase the distance of your clubs. They are rated for certain distances and that is what they do. Buying clubs is really your only option.

You aren't that far from the G20's. They were the first clubs i bought. The Ping wedges are a Great value and would  probably take a stroke or 2 off. The R! driver is a beast of a club!

Got to get your approach shots down. There are many good putters in this game.. but very few great ones. Only way to counter that is to get closer to the hole.. Some of the great players on here are great at finding the flat part of the green or making sure they leave themselves uphill puts for birdie. But either way it is all about the approach shot into the green...

Sooo as said above... A.) Ding more shots. B.) Improve Calculation's. C.) All of the above.

Another note... Go into practice mode and find a par 3 that has all sorts of putts... Hit it on the green and then practice putting from 0-15 feet. Mainly 5-6-7 ft. Those are the must make putts for improving scores.

Hope this helps... other then that... practice, practice, and well... practice.

club upgrades (unfortunately) are the key for me. even when I was dinging most shots - the starter clubs and balls werent consistent enough for me to keep close. I found that being able to spin and hit accurately were good - I can get my timing down with variable speed club easily - my good trait.

+1 - progressing with Starters is hard.

Looking at the OP, first priority are the wedges (+1 Courteney). Two short ones of those lvl40ish Pings will do for the moment.

Second, all the long clubs are of low level, i.e. low length and trajectory. Some intermediate help may come from a lvl47 Rapture 3WD (!), an unexpensive and powerful surrogate of a driver.

Third, it may be time to think of some custom balls to improve the approaches with some more backspin. Start with WGT balls, B-ES are nice, Tour SD are nicer. You'd have to allow for some credits vanishing on a regular basis.

Then, wait for the Master tier and for the good clubs coming - I second the G20 @88,515 XPs.

You can get a little more distance with the longer clubs by moving the dot on the ball down a bit. (backspin)

Moving the dot on the ball up puts top spin on the ball and generally somewhat shortens the length of the shot..

Hit more fairways, hit more greens, make more putts. Upgrade clubs. Practice, practice and more practice.
