I was thinking about getting me this new odyssey putter (lvl70) (being a miss ding Daytona putter) but on the forums I read all kind of disturbing things about the meter speed not being as slow as the starter putter (and the nike lvl77), false advertisement and all that. What is the current situation on this ? Did wgt really up the speed on the nike to match the Odyssey ? Are both now faster than the starter putter, though advertisement says it is the same speed ?

    Thx.

Odyssey seems to have settled down....at 1st speed appeared to be the same as my Rossa, however, speed appears now to be slower, somewhere between the Starter & Rossa.....happy enough with it......reading the right line more consistently is my problem...

When I had the Versa before I went back to the  Level 92+ Ghost Spider with all the talk about the meter being faster than advertised I put a stop watch on it and the Max that i had at the time and also the starter. The Versa was the same speed as the starter and much slower than the Max which is the same speed as the Rossa. But if you are a miss the ding style of putter it may not be for you. With the higher forgiveness and much higher balance it will tend to hold the line much better. Those 2 attributes will force you to miss the ding much more and that could cause you a lot of trouble. Because the more you miss the ding the more deviations you will get.

This might be true on Champ speed greens and I'm working on that......     Other Speeds I have had no Problems with it.

Heres what i got using the stopwatch. Im using Level 33 Callys for each timing, and the meter on all timings is set on the 30 foot increment. All timings used with full power on the 30 foot increment, to the ding line. 3 timings each for each putter.

    Starter putter:

    2.59

    2.59

    2.62

    Rossa level 55 putter:

    2.61

    2.60

    2.65

    Odyssey level 70 putter:

    2.75

    2.80

    2.77

Well , I am not convinced.

I have the Nike L77 Method, and I ain't see nothing better or slower especially when I am on the 10 foot scale.

Don't believe me, then play me.

You sound way more confident than you should be.

The meter speed of the Versa is not as advertised, but if you use the Rossa you will love the Versa.

It putts the exact same as Rossa, but i find it is better on long putts. If you like the Rossa it is a good buy.

Little pricey but a solid putter. If you are a off ding or ding putter this putter will do the trick.
