    No driving ranges near by?

You can get those nets/stops like used inside Golf Marts and such, and I think there are some affordable shot analyzers as well.

I'll snoop around in a bit and see what I can find.

PS...where lace on shoes for stability (tennis shoes are fine)...feet sliding around in sandals makes it tough to make consistent impacts.

LMAO. Too funny but it does point out something you might be want to watch out for-plugged balls. Drives landing in soft areas don't bounce! LOL. Wet springs here in the northeast make driving an adventure when it comes to finding the ball in the middle of the fairway. Some of them make it completely underground and you never find them.

You can improvise and make your own driving range of sorts. All you need is an old carpet that you can suspend from something, like the side of a barn or garage. Stand about 10 feet away and drive into the carpet. You obviously don't get the length but it's a good way to practice swinging and you don't need a ton of balls.  :-)

A quick search came up with several swing analyzers for less than 100.00 US, seems they plug in the end of the grip ..apps allow info to be sent to mobile devices as well, and let you know if you closing/opening the face.or square at impact, along with swing speed analysis...mph as well as if your swing speed is correct or decelerating, etc.

Better than walking through quick sand;)

try picking up a decent shaft for it which suits your swing speed.

it's the shaft that determines how good any club will be.

mines is fitted with a Diamana Whiteboard 65g extra stiff which adds around 30yrds or more to my drives.

And right next to that are the grips. Worn grips are going to turn in your hands and cause shanks. Regripping is a really cheap, easy to do yourself improvement that you will notice immediately. Like the first time you swing with it.  :-)
