Without balls to slow the meter... R11 (90) or RB (79) irons?

    I have this doubt.

In two weeks time I'm going to reach level 90 and have enough credits to spend. But I'm not sure whether I will be able to control the fast meter of the R11's irons. I won't have credits to buy expensive balls.

What's your opinion, are the RB (79) irons good enough, or the R11(90) with basic balls are controllable?.

    Thanks for your advice.

Either way , both clubs will be difficult to play , with the starter balls . I play the L 79+ Rocketbladez , and I use Srixon L11+ ball . At 180 credits , they make the 79+ bladez easy to play , and keep under control as well . To play the L 90+ R11s , I would need a ball with more dots of feel and am not willing to pay that much , to play those clubs. So yes , I understand your situation , and would suggest that you get the L 79+ bladez . You will need a ball with at least 1 dot of feel to play them , but you can get that from most of the WGT balls for less than 100 credits a sleeve. Hope this helps. Happy Swinging

The GI-SD ball does quite nicely with those irons and isn't expensive. Your biggest problem is going to be that they won't match your driver or wedges. The up side is that ball carries less deviation on missed hits and doesn't hurt as much with missed dings, just be sure to miss on the wind side of the ding.

I'd stick with the clubs that you have. There is less forgiveness with the R11's so you'll get a bigger deviation for the same ding miss.

I had the G20 irons and when I got to level 90 I bought the  R11's and even with good balls the meter was to fast for me so I "rebought" the G20 irons.I can handle the R11 woods but not the irons.

That's not a in my head. I'll buy one of the two I said, but I won't stay with my irons for sure.

I need distance, and 210 yards the 3I is too short from legend tier.

Same with the Tour GI-S ball just 1 dot of distance less than the SD. And it costs just a little less than the SD. If you can handle the meter the Tour-SD ball it a good one too. Same as the GI-SD but no feel.

WGT has in the past had a free rental weekend during the "Majors". I have no idea if that will happen. But, with the US Open next weekend you could wait a week to find out. Just a thought.

For me no doubt RB level 79, as you said if  you can't or won't buy the expensive balls the Bladez are the way to go  IMO

I usually use L81 Nikes and in the end guess I feel most comfortable with those for my R11 irons.  However, when I get pi$$ed paying the price I use the L35 Cally and wonder why I bother with the Nikes..................Even the L33 Cally S is really just fine! Personally I would struggle with less feel than that............Some people are better.  I was afraid of the L90 R11 irons initially because of the meter but some how (and mists of time here I appreciate) they feel smoother than the L79 Bladez which were also great scoring irons.................Despite the advertised meters I find my ding management the same with both set's with the ball's in question................ My thought's.
