Wind, landing spot elevation, landing spot shape (flat, uphill.downhill), landing spot type (fairway, rough, green), ball spin control dot placement, club brand/type, shot type, golf course, Ding! accuracy, and differences in ball construction all affect shot distance.
For instance a 9° driver will hit the same ball a different distance, all other factors being =, than a 10.5° driver of the same brand will.
One more dot will add the most distance when hit with a driver, and may not add any distance when hit with a 64° wedge.
FWIW , the number I want to know is how far a ball flies in the air. No doubt wind affects that number to some extent.
From that I adjust for the above factors because those above factors all determine how much the ball rolls after landing.
To get the most distance out of the ball and driver I use, I typicallyadd a slight bit of top or backspin.
