I notice higher level players don't use a hybrid and have 3 wedges instead. Why are 3 wedges better when there is a pw in club sets?   Also i am using nike balls. Why do most higher levels like max balls when distance is rated less?  Appreciate all feedback, thanks

The use of 3 evenly spaced wedges is much better for approach shots , giving you a better  selection of shots and I to was using level 71 nikes but find the difference in distance and such with the max pro slow meter balls is actually minimal

3 wedges evenly spaced bearing in mind also your pitching wedge way to go.  Use your 3 wood (remember top spin option) to punch out instead that hybrid for this game ..........Learn those wedges not just with full shots - punches, flops, chips, pitches and pepper that pin:)

Because our PW's are too long, e.g. mine on the RocketBladez is 125yrds, 2 wedges simply wouldn't cut it, also the 3iron is that long (220 in my case) that a hybrid becomes redundant.

Regarding the Max balls, I depise them in every single way, I don't agree that "most higher levels" use max meter balls, I rarely see them nowadays at the top players and it's not the distance rating thats important, it's the spin thats almost non existent on those balls, plus low durability and outragous price.

And at last, they are simply hideous :)

There is little need for a hybrid. You can use other clubs to get the same result in most cases.
