I think it would be great if WGT could introduce some imitation avatars based on real golf players....such as Englishman Justin Rose who just won the U.S Open or Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Jason Day, Ernie Els, Luke Donald, Hunter Mahan, Martin Leard, David Hearn, Padraig Harrington, Mike Weir, Rory McIlroy...and so on

The avatars, based on the players physical appearance could have up to 2 unique outfits which are created around what we're familiar with seeing those players wearing.

The cost could be anywhere between 850CR to 2500CR based on estimated popularity.

This shouldn't be too much of a stretch as WGT already has a create your own Custom Avatar in the Elite section at the Pro Shop but costing a whopping 500,000CR!

.....I almost forgot there should be some options for famous female golfers there too ;)

Let me know what you think...

I would probably not bother personally, and  50 credits more than the one I have would kill it immediately for me with that in mind!

It might be a good idea except for one thing. They would have to get contracts with each golfer that they used. And as most of those golfers are members of the PGA tour who has an exclusive contract with EA Sports to use the likeness of their members on their disk based games WGT might not be able to get them.

I like the idea of changing avatar height and weight for customization. It's a good idea as currently all the avatars are the same weight/height and build, though that would be better suited to another thread.....on avatar customization.

Well it's your personal choice, though it sounds like you're saying the reason you wouldn't get one is because 850CR is a good price and you've just bought an avatar at 800CR.

Well the good news is you can forget that one thing. I was expecting someone to get a bit confused about this when I wrote the post. It's a good point but the key word here is imitation. There is no legal  ramification when you create an avatar called 'T.Woods' who just happens to resemble a famous golfer. No need to worry about contracts or endorsements. It's a good choice for WGT and one which would be popular with a lot of players.

Basically yes................Had mine for some good time and 850 credits for a bit of fun is fine now and then to me.  Get much above that and personally the one I have works fine so doubt I would bother that's all.

Actually I'd much rather have an Avatar that has my actual head on it or even better I take a picture of myself and my Avatar is a likeness of me. I'm not vain because if you saw me you'd see an over weight 65 yr. old man so vanity isn't here.

Well the cost would be up to WGT, I estimated the cost judging on the current costs of avatars. If WGT were to push forward with the idea they might set them between 400CR and 1200CR? Aside from the costs, what do you think of the idea? Personally I think introducing a new collection of avatars based on real golfers would sell fast.

Certainly faster than 500,000CR which is what it costs to customize your own avatar!
