Sent another sleeve of balls to a player that only had starter balls... Again.

Have done this many times, and only ask that they pay it forward to a new player.

I have recieved gifts from players (not the ones i gave to) for doing this which again.. I thankyou.

I'm really torn between why do it? (not seeing it being payed forward to new players needing a break) or just saying "screw it" let them buy/earn or win there own goodies.

I would like to think and hope that this community enjoys and helps others.. but, it seems that only a few have that mind set.

Years ago, helping other gamers (whatever the game might have been) was a common theme. It seems now, that those days are over.

Going forward, looks very self centered. A sad time in gaming.

Very nice thing you are trying to do, but perhaps you are not getting the "pay it forward" turn out that you are looking for because they have no credits to do so.  After all, these are players that are sporting the starter ball.

I agree.. and good point. But, some are very good players that have very good clubs and are not willing to buy any more balls. So.. I give them a sleeve and only ask that, when they can... pay it forward.

I have spent several hundred dollars gifting to other players. These are not credits I have won (I have never won any), this is my own money. I have never hinted or asked for anything from anyone. I have been paid back many times with unexpected gifts from friends as well as total strangers. There is a very strong community of generous players on WGT. Granted, there are those that are always looking for something free, usually with deception. I have my faith in my friends and many others, it stands strong. Do what makes you feel good when helping others. It will come back to you. Keep the faith.

The whole idea of paying it forward is that you never know whether they do or not. You make the gift with no expectations of any rewards. Maybe ten years from now they pay it forward maybe not. Gift giving is for your pleasure and satisfaction or else it is meaningless.

Both  Buddhism and Chrisitanity have much to say about giving, not that I can or will quote it here, but basically, you should give without expectation of reward.

Taking satisfaction from your act of kindness is sufficient reward.

Exactly the point I was going to make...

The members who gift publicly in the Forums are a tiny % of those that do in total, and in general those that do may gift more in private...tip of the iceberg.

You don't or shouldn't, get p*ssed if the xmas present you gave costs more than the one you receive...

It's the thought that counts and in life I find what goes around comes around.......food for thought ?
