  I like to play St. Andrews but despite playing it probably hundreds of times, I still can't quite determine where the fairway is on my tee-off.  I've hit the ball numerous times where the graphic shows green, which appears to be fairway, only to find that I'm in the rough.  Just had a SMOKING ROUND going, only to get to #7 and end up going way over par on it.  Anyone know of any way to enhance the graphics or change the colors or something so I can finally understand WHERE the fairway is??  Any help will be most appreciated!  TX!

  Unfortunately, in your tier and with your Starter equipment, you may have no chances to reach the fairway in less than optimal conditions.

  1 of my favourite holes that 1. alosso could be right there been that long since teeing of from pro tees. i normally aim just left of the big bunker if  head wind aim for bunker it lands short.

  The fairway starts pretty much where i've drawn the red line. The thin patch down the middle is just a walk way and is classed as the rough. For a better chance to reach the fairway play your driver with full backspin.

  If you have a strong headwind and it's not reachable then over on the left where i've drawn the blue circle is a fairway from another hole that's reachable and an easier shot from the fairway lie instead of the 30-40% lie you'll get in the rough. Be careful you don't go out of bounds though if you go left.

  In my memory, this was the strongest motivation to improve my long clubs. I bought a Rapture 3WD (lvl 47) which would reach the fairway except for strong headwinds.

  Creamer, you are correct: Aiming to the left portion of the big "Shell" bunker means straight to the fairway. Longhitters try to hit the passage to the small one left of it. From Legend tees, with my precious G20s, I often hit to the right bunker part, making the approach shorter if I miss the sand :)

  Concerning that left part, it's awfully long from there with Starter clubs - 180 - 200 yds?

  Me thinks that it's better to work out ways to hit the green in three from the straight rough with a slight chance of par.

  if l Remember Rightly you can only play the left Fairway on the 7, hole on your second shot, if you play it as a T.shot you will be deemed oob.

  No you can play to it from your tee shot. When i 1st started the game many moons ago and only had the starter driver i quite often played over there when i had a headwind.

  Agreed, play to the lefy fairway from the tee. It leaves a longer shot to the green but by momory, a much better chance of making par. The downside is be careful not to go too far left as OB awaits.
