Baffling

  Hi, i was playing Merion going along nicely then gets to the 9th hole, par 3. My tee shot comes up 10 yards short in the rough (40-50%) i use the 13 yrd pitch shot hit it 100% on the line and the ball doesn't move an inch??? Tried the exact same shot again with the same result, how the heck are you meant to play these shots, i ended up trying to lob it out and gets on green, i ended up with a quadruple bogey 7 :(

  Methinks i need to practice more :)

  Some of that rough on Merion is awful and is best avoided at all costs. I'd use either a punch or a full shot from there.

  I was trying to avoid it lol, thanks for the advice Courteney, never thought of hitting a punch shot from 10 yards, worth a try, thanks again pal
