hi e1 question for computer experts. i play on a laptop 500 hard drive 4gb ram intell i3 proccesor. my friends pc 500 gb hard drive 2gb ram intell i3 proccesor GTX 650 TI graphics card. Now my question is when i play on his pc the meeter is a good bit slower than my laptop i need to go to the rzn nikes to get the same speed of meeter he has. we are thinking could this be because of the graphics card he put in his pc??   if so can i put same 1 in my laptop?? any help would be so appreciated tys.

You will probably find , your laptop as onboard graphics card which will use the ram from your system , your friends tower pc will have a seperate graphics card that as its own ram source.

The graphics on your laptop system is probably more than adequate but would probably improve with an upgrade of ram, you can try this link SYSTEM SCANNER and download and use the scanner to see if its possible to increase or improve your system ram ;-) ......this would be the cheapest option.

    Hope it helps

edit: as an after thought, if your using windows Vista or Windows 7, have you tried using a memory stick with READY BOOST , might be worth a try to see if it improves for you ;-)

Then could it possibly be just down to monitor size? .... The larger the monitor , the slower the meter will appear

Attach you laptop to a 42" TV and notice the difference

Try the readyboost tip , worked for me till i upgraded my ram and cost nothing as I had a memory stick doing nothing ;-)

I will upgrade my Ram from 4GB to 8Gb next week on my desktop, will let u know how much smoother and slower my meter is Graham.

Don't forget 32 bit windows will only use 3.5 of the Ram, u need 64 bit OS for more than 4GB Ram

yeh , that system scanner will tell you how configurable your system is , how many ram ports , what ram and how much you presently got and if it can be improved , you don't have to buy your ram from crucial , but it lets you know what you can use in your system.
