As a Legend I must say I think that the current system for equipment is stupid.  When I joined this site it was all about your tier to get the better clubs which made perfect sense.

I understand that you can make money selling clubs based off your level system, but I also think your tier should open clubs up based on which tee box that you play from.

    Just my opinion.

I think most players would agree. But, WGT makes more money with the current system.

I disagree. What is poor is that with WGT the same club performs as well in the hands of a hack as it does in the hands of a legend. In real life anyone can walk in to a pro shop and buy any club but a poor or inexperienced player will not hit it as well as a tour professional.

There should be a reduction in club performance of 2-5% per tier below legend.

That may well be true - but part of the fun of this game, is that those of us who are "Hack" IRL can be a "Pro" in this virtual world! I for one enjoy that!

The system in place is designed so that as you progress through the tiers your level goes up approximately at the same time.

Unfortunately in the distant past there were some very loud complaints from WGT members about sandbaggers. The solution was the present system which means if you play MP against higher tier players your average drops substantially and therefore you climb the tiers quickly. Some players in WGT see their tier as some kind of merit badge and they focus on climbing the tiers, sometimes to the detriment of all other areas of the game. Then of course there are the multis who take this to a new level.

The current situation vis-a-vis club availability is a result of the disengagement of the new average system from the old tier system.

Solution? Easy don't focus on tiering up, focus on improving your game and concentrate on stroke play and your level won't be a worry.

Of course there will occasionally be the prodigiously talented who are just too good for the system, but if that is the case they will get to the top regardless of clubs.

What I said before in another thread.. but put much more eloquently here if I may say.

I am quoting the entire post since the author expressed this so well. I agree 100%.

The only negatives I see are: The lack of club diversity at higher levels, especially given the time investment required to advance in levels once we reach ~L81, and the XP required for each level up increases drastically from there. I do not mind this on the surface, and while I will likely enjoy those L90 R11 irons at L90, I do not feel I "need" them. Driver and 3W diversity from L80 - L95 would be nice, with some nice risk-reward clubs at L100+.

These kind of threads just keep continuing too. Is there anything interesting to talk about in these forums anymore? Just old news?

I just believe in a fair game, the current system is not fair as it does not make all equipment available to players of the same tier.  The game should be about shot making and we should not have to be at a disadvantage due to a broken system.

I liked that system back then, but I think clubs were unlocked as you reached a certain level too... can't remember for sure how it was done.
