I have never seen the need for a practice green. But after someone was rude to me and said my one putts stats suck, maybe it would be a good idea :))

So here is my question. Why do people look at the negatives?

Had they said, wow I like the high percentage of 3 putts you have, I would have felt all warm and fuzzy.

I'm not really a stats looker much, but the one I do look at is the "Hole in ones".

edit: Can’t see any point of a putting green, we do have practice rounds.

There is also a putting CCTH where you can change the speeds

Agree, when playing a real round I always hit the practise green to get the eye in with some putting before starting the first tee.

In WGT would be good to re establish the feel of the "swing meter" before teeing off.

Just add mulligans while in practice mode for pete's sake.  How can it be practice if you can't drop a ball and experiment?  It's not!  It's just a round that doesn't count.

What gets me is the phrase "practice round".  According to the rules of golf, if you play a round, you are to record your score so you can keep an accurate accounting of your handicap.

The only way around this is to play "best ball", "worst ball" or 4 or less holes.  In single-player "best ball" you tee off two or more shots from the tee box.  From there, you choose your "best ball", shag the other balls on the course and hit from the "best ball" location those same # of shots you took from the tee box.  Worst ball is similar, however you go to your "worst ball" and play all of your shots.  Since you played multiple balls, the score should not be considered when determining your handicap.

I agree there should be a practice facility for pitching/chipping and putting.  The quickest way to reduce your handicap (or average as is the case here) is to practice. And IMO, the best practice is the short game and putting.

Sorry I don't actually agree. A practice round effectively is any round outside of a competition. Yes I often will play more than one ball when the course is quiet. Bear in mind, someone must also mark your card for handicap purposes.

We have the option to play a "practice round" and with the par 3 course can practice our short game, including putting. No it is not perfect but is pretty good. All we need is a mulligan option in practice mode - that would singularly have the most benefit to all. Unlike real life our swing, stance, grip...everything is the same, every time in this game

And at the end of the day, WGT will not implement something that is not needed as these already exist, just not quite in the format some would like,
