  There is only a few countries that are eligable to win physical prizes, foe, US, UK, Ireland, Norway, HOlland, Germany and a few more.

  I have been given reasurance that next year more countries will be eligable, Sweden among others.

  why can't WGT just exchange the physical prize trip to the open with the similar value in credits?

  they're more than happy to pay you out in RG's, so it shouldn't pose any  problem for them to exchange the open trip prize for a credits prize because it would be done in house. from memory, they did this before for a player (TLD) who was eligible to collect the prize but couldn't go on the trip apparently so was awarded a similar amount in credits.

  isn't this a possibility?

  Off topic tho, all countries in central Europe are suppose to be eligible to win a prize (gaming & betting money allowed) but WGT has simple not updated it's system according to the countries where gaming is allowed.

  As said, Kriz could not receive the trip because his physical residence in Sweden and instead the trip went to Jon (AB)....sily & unfair, but that is the way WGT handle those things at the moment

  I know Kriz is not bothered with the situation, he is going to Pinehurst anyways for the next Us Open (rich boy), but what it matters for Kriz , I suppose, it is to be the "Virtual Champion". I think he has received credits or big prizes, not sure about this.

  WGT has awarded me with 2 Premium tickets for all four days at Pinehurst, and some merchandise.

  Me and Dsheavills are going, i offered him the other ticket and he accepted, we are how ever paying the trip on our own expense.

  im not a rich boy, but why not go when the chance is given :)

  If your not  able to win the grand prize then you should not be able to enter the tournament.      Now we see wgt has issued  a prize to a non-prize eligable player.  

  Wgt.  has done the right thing in this case .   Any player able to register for the tourney should be able to win the grand prize..However..    I have heard several comments about how this major tournament is being  cheated that players use an auto-dinger to control there shots.   I would have to say I believe the rumors.   Therefore all major prize tournaments should have to come with some sort of proof posted that you actually control your own meter and shots .   make them take photos of the  in game  meter and  maybe even get the top 25 players to play 1 extra round and have them have to live stream the  games .   With such a  high volume of players playing to win such a big tournament.  Shouldnt there be some sort of policy put into place to assure us all that the cheaters dont win this trip.     Thanks for listening   Scott

  CONGRATS!!!!! Kriztjan on winning the Virtual US Open,Totally bad form on the prize though was wondering what would happen if a non US player won guess now we know hey.
