Driver off the fairway

  I am new at this, just started yesterday and on the closest to the hole matches where I am further than 200 yards and it gives me a 3 wood, it will always be short of the green.  When I use the driver it doesn't get as far as the 3 wood.  Help!!!!!!!!!

  You just aren't going to get it there w/ 5 wood.  Could be uphill or wind or a combo.  Just hit your LW or flop it on and you'll probably be just a close as you would if hitting a long putt.

  The driver doesn't work because it has such little loft....you would almost never hit driver on a golf course other than on a tee or maybe if you're trying to get cute when yu're putting.

  When playing closest to the hole over 200 yds, I use my 3 wood with top spin, depending on the wind. All the holes are "doable" if you find the sweet spot.
