It is with deep regret that we will be disabling the search feature in the forums .......

Now if that was the case , would many actually miss it, in fact do many actually use it?

I come on tonight and see 3 or 4 Topics started , all pertaining to windows 8 and the mouse problems.

    Could someone not create a a Topic , labelled "Windows 8" ?

Then as others come onto the forums and use the search feature, type in "Windows 8" , at least they will be given a section of the forum just for windows 8 problems.

Just a thought anyway, off to look through 23 sections to find out why my flash not flashing properly ;-)

    rant over folks, sorry.

Actually Mush I think it is a fair rant. I too am tired of seeing a post ever few days about driving ranges and putting greens, flash, courses, meter problems, the list goes on.

We do have that search feature, but unfortunately it takes more work for most people to type in the search phrase and sift through the multiple  pages of threads about those keywords, rather than type something like?

    HELP ME!!!!

    My meter sucks

i feel you though but doubt people will change

no i don't believe they are. I believe Mushy was being hypothetical as he said after that sentence, now if they were....

i think he is just tired of people posting new threads asking various question or posing queries when there are already a bota load of threads about that topic

yes i agree, even in the top bar to make it more prominent , but wtf does the search seem to take you to a pre 60's google page? ....... its complete tat.

The forums I have on my site are run properly by the moderators , any posts placed in the wrong location are moved, doesn't take an age and really simple to do with the tools the moderators have.

the moderators here, yes they do a fantastic job answering queries , but actual forum moderation and housekeeping is almost nil.

WGT needs to sort out in house problems, and employ actual moderators and leave shoe and icon to be the go betweens from wgt and the members, they do a fantastic job on the limited info they are given.

Anyway, sorry again folks for the rant , promise to be good boy again 2morrow ;-)

I would love to have tools to do all that. In theory it's possible to move and merge posts but it's like a 10 min process per post and I have not done in in 3 years, nor have plans to... Its just too cumbersome.

As for search... the one we had before, is much worse... Unfortunately, the forum platform is not the best and I already put in a request for an update...  The problem is, 3rd party forums are not designed to work this framework, so it maybe impossible to get done.
