I am saving credits to buy a decent set of clubs and some slow meter balls but Im tempted to go for the ones I can afford now. I read somewhere that you can sell your clubs? Is that true? If that is the case it would surely be better to buy what I can buy with my credits now and then sell them later to buy a better set? Any advice anyone?

    hi

yes, you can save any clubs you purchased back to the pro shop. whether to buy now or save, it's not a question anyone can answer... I personally bought best I could at the moment and then upgraded as needed.

you can sell them back to the pro shop BUT you only get 25 percent of what you paid for them.

i.e if something cost 1000 credits you will only get 250 credits when you sell them back

Some recommend holding off a little longer, say until master level, before investing in new equipment.  As mentioned, you can sell back, but at 25% of what you paid.

In the meantime, if you are looking for a little more distance to help you through the pro/tour pro tees you might consider the wgt pro 9.5 driver which is a decent value at a modest 250 credits, and will teach you more control as you get ready for master gear.

If you are itching to buy something now to make a real difference to your game I would invest in a good set of 2 or 3 wedges (many drop the the hybrid club to get 3 well-spaced wedges in their bag: you can punch a shot quite effectively out of the rough with a fairway wood).  I still use the level 26-31 Clevelands at legend level, and am still happy with them.

Others here may also recommend a higher end putter (that will also likely stick with you for a long time) to slow down the meter and help your game on the greens.  -Keith
