I'm not very good.  I'm a TP, but my avg doesn't reflect my 18-hole ability.  There's not much point in entering most free tournaments (though I enter some) and no reason to spend credits on premium tourneys.  When other TPs are shooting 50 on StA (Leadbetter), what's the point?  Same situation, though not as drastic, with other tourneys.  My ony hope of being competitive is to get hot on a 9-hole round.

If I were a good player, I wouldn't want to drag myself around the course in an A/S.  Why would anyone else?  I love competition, but that implies that both (or all) players have some chance of finishing in the money.

So, where would you suggest I go to find competition on my level?  If the answer is unpleasant to me, that's ok.  To date, I have only played by myself against the field and, as I said, when my tier people are shooting low 60's-50, it's not much of a competition on my part.  Now, I'm somehow in danger of tiering up even though I regularly shoot in the 70's.

Better clubs and balls aren't my problem, either.  I'm the problem.  I see no point in better clubs until I get moved back on the tees.  I have plenty of opportunities to score well, but my skill level prevents that.  Thanks.

The answer is to join a good country club. A smaller pond means more chance of winning and you get a good variety of tournaments. You also get to meet lots of others and to make friends. I've sent an invite from my club.

Thanks for both replys.  I will accept your invitation Courteney and give it a try, and thank you for that.  I should add that I am not looking for a social experience, though there's nothing wrong with that.  I'm interested in competing against people of my general ability, and mere tier level is not necessarily a true indication of ability.

I think i would have to agree with Courteney on this one then. Join a club. the owner can create tier specific tourney and although you may think you are falling into the same situation it is highly unlikely that it actually is.  In a tier specific CC tourney there may only be less than 50 eligible contestants and a portion of them won't play so you are narrowing down the field, not to mention if the CC owner has done a good job of recruiting and monitoring their players you should be playing against true TP's, where this is there first go at TP, so their skill level should be more close to yours. Not that you are going to win every tourney, but i don't think you expect that.  Alot of the TP's you see that are shooting those uber low scores are just regurgitated legends and TL's. Not that some of the TPs who are new and legit can't shoot that and they do, but unfortunately there are a rash of multi accounters who get to legend or TL and just start over on a new account, so you may be encountering some of that.  Not to mention, you will get some insight and help into how to be better from the higher level higher tier players in your club, which you may find invaluable. You may find that you missing some things and those who have come before you have figured out some stuf that you don't know and they can pass that on to you.  I had a TL tutor me some from when i was about Master and I would suck at this game if not for some of the information that he has imparted on me. I think it is a good start to find what you are looking for

And yes that is correct Courteney, I agreed with you. There i said it
