CerinoDevoti: The indicator box shows black box (level lie) all the time. The lies aren't level so it's like playing without any indication of the lie at all. Corwyn and I have been playing it with starters and so far he shot par on Merion and I shot par on Olympic. We played together today on the back side of St A in heavy wind and I was able to shoot par. We kinda like it in a sick stupid way for how incredibly hard it makes the game but it has to be fixed for mortals. ;).
WGT is not going to change the Uneven Lies game play just fix the lie box so it actually shows the lies.
Folks, load up starter balls, and give the UEL a try right now, while it's still broken. After your tee shot, watch the ball roll on the fairway very carefully... and try to gauge whether you're going to get a left/right, up/down hill lie.
Play for GIR, and see how close you can get to a par round. (And there's always the option of 'free' mulligans in this practice mode too).
To my mind, although the UEL is broken, WGT have accidentally created another great form of gameplay. It's a fantastic test of course management and shotmaking under pressure. So many of us are jaded by the darts game: Here's an opportunity to shift your perspective entirely, and get a fresh challenge.
I'm almost serious in wanting WGT to offer this as an option in the game menu ... although who knows what else might go wrong if they did!
'Blind Unevens' rocks!!! Give it a try today!
