    Just turned Legend and I am level 70. Have the R1 driver (275 yards) R11 3 Wood (227 yards) g20 iron set (210 ~ 115 yards) Cleveland wedges (90, 75, 60 yards) Ghost Putter (lvl 35)

Started a few stroke play round.. it wasn't bad from the back tees but a few problems I faced were finding the fairway cause the tees were way back, and finding the green cause most of my 2nd shots to the green had a distance of over 180 yards. I couldn't control the spin on my long irons to make the ball stop on the green. And looking at the scores of some legends in stroke play tourney's & ready-go's, I knew I had no chance scoring that good from the back tees.

any tips on playing from the back tees when low leveled?

You'll be playing a game of strategy and course management until you can get the better gear for the Tier. The back tees are all about the Par 4 long iron approaches so play some practice rounds working on learning how the ball will roll out. In some cases you'll be landing short and having it roll up to the hole. If it's a front guarded pin, it's all about course management. Either land short of the green or play long with long putts or scrambling for par as the only options.

Par 3's and 5's will be your friend so attack and putt well for those birdies.

First Congratulations to you. It's a fascinating challenge that I am sure you will enjoy.

There was a recent thread where some relevant stuff, I think, was also addressed:

    ^^^ what Cerino said ..

by the time you hit lvl79 i suggest u pick up the Bladez .. it's the 2nd best iron set available and very close in performance to the lvl90 R11 irons .. between now and then u'll gain plenty of experience in course management .. lvl81 G20 280yds is a must when u get there i reckon .. lvl67 XHot @ 278yds is another alternative to what u have right now

Welcome to the club! Had a look at your stats and you and I are like carbon copies of one another! As much as it sucks, we are pretty much just biding time until L79-81, when we can unlock some equipment that gives us a shot to be competitive again.

For me, the hardest part about the transition to Legend has been the realization that you really need a strong all-around game to succeed at this level. If you have a weakness in your game, it'll be found out real quick...and you'll keep having that weakness challenged. Personally I had become overly dependent on par 5's and driver-wedge par 4's for scoring. Those easy birdie holes are few and far between now, so I've struggled making birdies.

One thing I did notice is your ball lacks sufficient spin for those longer approaches and/or uphill approaches. I upgraded to a 4 dot spin ball and immediately noticed the ability to hold more long iron and uphill shots. Probably not the advice you're looking for, but there it is. Best of luck!

I can't even imagine how difficult it must be playing as a legend in the 70's.  I'm going to hit level 74 sometime this weekend, and I'm only a Tour Pro lol.  I think it is mostly the putting that is holding me back right now but once I finally decide between the Method or the Verssa I think my putting should improve greatly.

The Starter putter is quite well in the 30 ft scale - further outside it's weak "balance" shows.

You are but .36 short of Master - don't feel too comfortable in that TP chair!

I have the same R1 driver that you do and also had the ping G20s when I first made legend (now have the Bladez). The distance is not that big of a problem. Do NOT go for the G20... keep the R1 you have. Far better to give up the 5-10 yards you will gain from the G20 to keep the ball in the fairway. Fairways are a must at the legend level. I am not upgrading driver until L89 when I can get the SLDR.

You can shoot well with your equipment, even your srixon ball. I often play with the WGT-SD2 65 credit ball (the ball I made legend with) and can shoot several under with it from the tips. The only upgrade I'd recommend is to get a MAX putter. It has helped my putting somewhat (though I still miss far too many of the putts I should make... it is better than the Ghost Spider)

I used both the lvl35+ Ghost and the lvl66+ Ghost.

I found the Nike Method putters better.

I recommend upgrading to the lvl51+ Nike 001 Method putter, or to the lvl70+ Odyssey Versa #1 Black putter.

"Drive for show. Putt for dough."

Par is established assuming 2 putts on each green, which is 36 strokes, or 50% of a score of par on a par 72 course
