got in a pot bunker on st andrews and couldn't get out with a p wedge.  5, 10, 15 try.  Seriously you have to make it at least possible for beginning players to at least be able to complete a round in order to attract repeat players.  Challenging is one thing, but impossibility is another.

When no one is looking, grab the ball and toss it out. That's what i do.

Have a talk with Thomas Bjorn !!

I am sure he would agree!!

or youtube how to lose the british open in one bunker !

he was 3 strokes in the lead  and 4 holes to get the cup , but that nightmare bunker shot , and then again and again.

Some of them are just so tough , that you are better to look bakwards and get the bet angle out ! A bogey is better than a tripple.

First, you never get more than 10 tries - shot limit at 6 over Par on each hole.

Second, at STA and RSG there are some nasty lies, buried in the front wall of the bunker.

Third, with Starter wedges, AFAIK, it's impossible to play out to the front then - turn back or to the side, aim for a nicer lie and accept your medicine.

With custom clubs (1), you'd have better chances. Without, better avoid them pot bunkers.

    (1) lvl 41 Pings are a good deal.

In practice mode, max out on Par-3 course (tried only this one) is after 15 shots per hole. They changed this is more now.

    I stand corrected.

    Thank you.

Edit: 15 strokes max on a Par 3 in practice mode, perhaps an addition to the Mulligan feature?

Alas, 10 strokes max on a Par 4 in a ranked round - seems unchanged there.
