  If anything have everybody involved and just make a cut after 1st round down to 45 people. then after 2nd round cut down to 15 people. and the winner should take 70% and 2nd Place 20%  
  
  Instead of WGT taking all 70-80% of all of the payouts like in the ready-gos. otherwise the tournaments are pointless and only people who don't know how to do math would play them
  
  
  Dansamcam has a decent idea. but mine is a bit more professional and proper let alone would be a lot more popular.

  What I can't understand is why someone would reply to a thread about something that they are not going to participate in. Why would you post 'Well I'm not interested' ffs

  There must be 30 people who would give this a go, I could name 25 now and add 5 drunks who thought it was a good idea at the time(I could probably name these too lol), 30 should be possible .

  Why not have it as a monthly , 4 week comps, with payouts every week, and extra prizes for the top 3 at the end. 1000 credits a week, for the people who enter this should not be a problem. You could have a cut each week. 30 cut to 25 cut to 20 cut to 10.

  Total income 85,000 credits.

  Weekly Payouts as mentioned

  1st     5000

  2nd    4000

  3rd      3000

  4th      2000

  5th      1000

  With the final top 3 getting

  1st overall     10000

  2nd overall     7,500

  3rd overall        5,000

  WGT's cut would be 17,500 (a fair 20ish%) and balls used. Jobs a good un.

  What players like with ready go's are the QUICK TURNAROUND.  Players get annoyed if tournaments don't fill up. 3 rounds working at 1 a week wont cut it for most players.  Most players would prefer to play all three rounds in a week, maybe even 3 days!!  

  What would be so difficult in once  you've entered the tournament, you then have a 72 hour timer which times down until you have played all three rounds.  You could even play all three straight after each other.  The scores will still be calculated as shoe suggested but on a much quicker turnaround.

  I'm not sure you're right there Chris. What the top players want is not necessarily a quick turn round, it is good competition. I can tell you now that what separates the really good players from the good players is that they are very very competitive in nature, they do not like losing so if they lose they try and learn from it and make sure they don't let it happen again. What we need is quality rather than quantity.

  There is not enough on WGT to keep the top players interested. The only thing that rings their bell at the moment is the 1 Major a year and what you will find is that after that major quite a few drop out of the game. They have won all the monthly's, all the RG's and so a new challenge is needed.

  I would say that this is important for WGT as a whole, if there were no PGA Tour the interest at ground level for real golf would be less.

  Brilliant idea with the weekly payouts as well as the Grand payout, TallAce.
  
  and it's also fair for wgt. If it were going to be a common tournament, That should be the way it is done. If it's a 1 time thing, they should do it my way as I feel the players deserve something good some time as wgt has nothing to lose and it would just gain wgt some respect and become more admirable.

  So a little update...

  I was talking to the tournament team about this tournament and this is the idea that came out of it.  Feedback welcome.  This really only comes from about 30 min of hashing out the idea.

   

  1,000 Credit Entry

  15-20 players only

  3 Tournaments spanned over 3 weeks. Single play

  Top 2 scores combined would make up the winner, gives players a chance to have a bad hole and not fully be out of it.

  1st week entry fee paid, next 2 weeks the tournament will be by special invite only so no additional credits will be put in and no other players other then the original 15-20 can enter.

  Pay out top 5 based on 15 player entry

  5th - 1,000 Credits

  4th - 2,000 Credits

  3rd - 3,000 Credits

  2nd - 4,000 Credits

  1st - 5,000 Credits

   

  Any suggestions or tweaks?

  Has this idea been shelved shoe?

  Would like to see some sort of multi tourny set up. If we get 15 - 20 players that should work.

  Have I replied to this already? If I haven't then I'm in.

  I wouldn't limit it to a certain amount of players tho. I always miss the weekly multi round cos I don't play mondays and then it's full by tuesday. Why is that limited to 200 players btw?
