This is not a complaint...but just a warning to everybody.

I was alerted to this by one of my CC members, when he cracked it playing the game...lol, so I started to keep a close eye on the situation.

I always look at the distance to pin at the top right hand side of screen....like most of us I presume.

Playing the Leadbeater Challenge....  St.A #9  off the tee shows 295yrds...  I placed the aim on the pin and it's 285yrds.    St.A #10 shows 330yrds...  actual distance is 317yrds to pin off the tee.....  that comp is played off the whites

Just a little warning to everybody....  Don't always go by the distance that is showed in the top right corner of your screen....   Move the aim to the pin to get the distance.

This might also explain those ... What The Eff shots we do that go way past the hole and just leaves us scratching our heads

    -Roger

They're par 4's.  the listed yardage on holes in WGT is to the centre of the green unless it's a par 3.

I respectfully disagree. WGT yardage is always to a pin.

Alas, scorecard yardage (and display at the top on the tee) are measured to one pin and may differ from the actual yardage when the other pin is selected. This is only true on Par4s and Par5s. Par3 tee yardage changes with the pin setting.

Late edit: apparently invalid for OLY, MER - unknown for future courses.

Current yardage distance to the pin is always available when hovering over the blue dot in the mini-map.

9th at St Andrews, 4th at Congressional, 15th at RSG. There are loads of them, just like in real golf.

@alosso what I meant was that off the tee, the yardage in the top right corner is the scorecard yardage unless it's a par 3.  Hence the discrepancy on some drivable par 4's...

    This is what I said.

Nevertheless, yardage in WGTland is not to green center as you stated and which we are used to from rated hole measurement in real golf. It's always to one of the pins.

The first thing I look at when I get on the Tee or any shot...  is at the top right hand corner of screen where it says the yardage.

I Know now that the yardage can be wrong.

Everybody has to be careful and move the aim on the pin to get correct yardage

I hadn't realised this at all, so thank you for explaining it all  folks.

    Yours sincerely,

    A level 97 newbie.

p.s. In light of the above, I think WGT should make these available in the pro shop -

Just hover over your blue dot on the mini-map low right.
