Just a few notes on the release last night.

WGT Golf Mobile is currently a Top 10 ranked sports game for the iPad in the US and many other countries!

You can download and play WGT Golf Mobile free for the Apple iPad 2 or later, with a high-speed Internet or WiFi connection.

Log in with your existing WGT account and use your virtual equipment to play full stroke play, closest-to-the-hole and tournaments across six WGT courses. Continue the same games and tournaments on either the Web or Mobile.

Note, this first version of the game does not include multi-player games, country club tournaments, avatars or all the WGT golf courses yet -- but we'll be adding those as updates in the coming months -- as well as support for iPhone and Android mobile devices soon.

Get the new high-level SpeedBlade Iron Set from TaylorMade to add higher launch, more carry and less roll to your approach shots. High performance ratings for distance, precision and spin make these new irons a great choice for players competing at top levels in the game. Unlock at Level 75.

We're introducing a new WGT tournament option that requires players to use specific virtual clubs, balls or swing meters to enter a tournament.

The idea comes from players in the special WGT Forum tournaments hosted by WGTdbloshoe, that require using WGT Starter Cubs and Balls for an added level of difficulty. Player feedback was so positive that we've decided to start hosting more of these tournaments, and we thought top players would enjoy competing with the challenge of the 3-Click Swing Meter in a free stroke play tiered tournament on sunny Cabo del Sol.

The free Cabo 3-Click Challenge will launch later today, and you must equip the free 3-Click Swing Meter. Good luck and let us know your ideas for other Required Item tournaments you want to play next.

We're getting into the fall holiday spirit with special limited-edition Halloween virtual golf balls, featuring a fun purple vapor trail. Watch out though, these virtual balls actually have some scary distance and spin, so stock up while you can!

We'll also be running a special promo on Halloween in the USA, so mark your calendars to play WGT on 10/31.

Checked out the halloween balls, hmmm, about as long lasting as halloween. Methinks if you hit a pumpkin with a golf club it would last longer, hehe.

Nothing to say here. Nothing exciting to see either. Small updates is getting tiresome.

LOL! You must be insane 395 credits for a ball that last one round, and you get 3 for that price. 3 rounds for 395 credits. What is next, half a dot and 500 credits? Not worth it.

These maintenance updates are such a turn off any more.

Oh and don't get me started with Ipads. Really now we will have to wait for them to load the game lol. Wifi slows the game down.

Not as scary as the price for 1 dot of durability.

Be lucky to see a stampede at that price:)

More choice fair enough.  I never knock that.  Are they the same as the Bladez, save level and price though?? Fair enough question I think.

Why not.  Personally I hope any alternative meter one is starter ball, but nice to see these ideas.

I have been thinking about taking a break from the R11's lately,  in the interest of slowing down the meter some.   I was thinking about the G20's but didn't like the idea of having a 215 yard 3 iron.

I was looking at the rocketbladez  but am a sucka for new gear, and the part of the description that I quoted DBshoe  for the new SpeedBlades has me thinkin.... even though the dot depiction between the  RBladez and SpBlades are identical, the SpeedBlades sound like they will have a better ball flight.

^ this caught my eye right away. If WGT can create tourneys where a specific swing meter is the only way to play then can it be done where starter clubs and ball would be stipulated for entry and play only? If so, I'd like to see some tiered starter club and ball tourneys ASAP. Throw in Uneven Lies as well so it's a little hard please?

I could see  Hack through Tour Pro from the first tee(easy). Master and Tour Master from the second tee(medium) and Legend and Tour Legend playing from the third (Hard) tees. We use different tees up to the third(hard) in our Tough It Out Tourneys with Starter Clubs and UL.

Offer It and They Will Come. ;)

    I agree!!!!

I have to say, I'm stunned by the reaction elsewhere in the forums that this is a disappointing update. The implications of this particular innovation are profound, imho.

Being able to create tourneys that are club or ball specific is FANTASTIC!

It's a way to address a lot of the ennui that's present for the top players, and get all kinds of life out of a variety of club sets (who knows, top players may spend more to get downgraded clubs to take on a particular challenge in a specific tourney).

People have been clamoring for level playing field events for ages. If WGT have really managed to pull this off in programming terms, that's a huge feather in their cap, and I'm certain was no simple programming task.

I can't wait to see what comes of this! Hooray!

Does this mean the special promo will only be available in the USA.?

Surely World Golf Tour wouldn't discriminate in such a way....

Yes they will be building on this idea of having required clubs or balls.  I believe they are rolling it out slowly to make sure there are not any issues with it.
