what browser are you using? I found the same problem on IE. Chrome was better but still the jerky meter issue even after dumping the cache before playing, checking for unwanted extensions, defrag, etc. .
About 2 weeks ago I downloaded Comodo Dragon. Problem solved. Ive found Comodo to be far superior to IE or Chrome as far as game smoothness overall, along with much faster load times and less puter crashes. Try it anyway. You can always dump it if it doesnt help. Good Luck
