    hello all

i have a question for all and WGT

my father-in-law has been playing wgt for 2 1/2 years, he is over 70 years of age, he plays when he can, sometime he might play 1 to 2 hrs a day for a few weeks then he might not play for a week or 2, his connection not the best, so he shoots avg scores, and he enjoys the game,

he not into playing wgt tourneys and is not a member of a CC, so all in all he just plays for fun, so sometimes when he comes to visit us, he will ask can he use our computer, because it has better connection and a smoother meter ,  so he came last week to visit logged in and played a tourney and he finishes 2nd,  they disquailified him and  now they have kicked him from wgt and said that he has multiple accounts,

so i ask anyone to tell me if a guy was a multi accounter (1) how has it taken him over 2 years to get to tourmaster, (2) the guy has never won a tourney on wgt as far as im aware of, so the 1 time he finishes 2nd he is called a cheat , (3) you see players who turn legend and they only be playing the game 3 months,

now are wgt saying that this guy has cheated because he used the same ip address as me, so what they trying to say that 2 genuine people from the same house cant use the same ip address, so if ur sisters or brothers or fathers or mothers play wgt they cant use the same ip address,

this guy is devastated and dejected because of all the *** that wgt let go and 1st time he does well he gets banned

i know about all the guys and gals who have multiple accounts but seriously a guy who is L81 and a tourmaster after over 2 years of playing and his avg was 74

WGT cop on and get rid of the real cheats not an old man who ye have just broken,

answers on a postcard to WGTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Unfortunately this is what happens when Witch Hunts start.  You have all these members so busy scouring the members lists and tourney leaderboards, going through their history, charting and back plotting and demanding that WGT do something about all of these multis, sandbaggers and cheats.

When this happens innocent people will always get caught in the crossfire.  I don't know you or your family member and if what you are saying is real or not, but it doesn't really matter.  We have so many people wanting cheaters heads on a stick, that at some point someone who is not a cheat is bounds to get tossed and maybe your situation is the first. I don't know, but it is sad if legitimate players start to get tossed because of cheaters any way you slice it, it is no win.

Maybe go to an extreme and go over to his house, log in as you and then fire off an e-mail or 10  to WGT. Don't play in case they do something stupider (although where you play from shouldn't be an issue), just show them the relationship using the IP address.

    Very worthwhile thread IMO.

@ the OP.  I don't know you of course has to be said.  With that in mind I do hope the situation resolved itself, and the old guy gets to enjoy his game again.

WGT have a real problem. On one hand there are cheats.  The fact that so few have come to the forums with this issue may be an indication that their policy is basically working.  Cheats must be rooted out and as best as can other cheats know they are being hounded.

Good luck to all I guess.

Although this situation sucks, I am glad WGT took this action.

Unfortunately, the multicoonters have ruined this for honest players like the OPS father-in-law.

    Cheers,
