Had KISS on my briefcase ( it was a requirement along with spiked running shoes ??  WTF ? ) in Calday Grange Grammar School.1981

KIZZ written in 'liquid paper' ( it didn't go down well on my 1st day )

Had the brains to pass 11+, but never really fitted in with studious characters..

Had many a private session with Mr Dodd ( headmaster )  ouch that cane hurt !

    ( expelled 3 years later ! ) lol

Excellent tunes Andy^^^^^, welcome back lol And congrats btw - 5000+++ posts lol (sorry saw but been jet hopping the last couple of days)

That said I will put my hand up and ban myself for a few days for my following lol.

After listening to many of the tunes I started going through my CD collection, and yes it is varied. Sadly I have no vinyl left as I have given most away (and threw some away that I was somewhat embarrassed to own lol) as I have moved so many times across different timezones.

What became evident was that I do have a bias for anything with a great guitar riff, or something quite alternative and I admit most of my CD's do not fit into mainstream categories.

The other thing is I have very very few female vocalists. The following artist I have bought a few songs of hers on-line, but could never quite buy a CD, but her ballads I do like (where the hell is that guitar riff you say???). I do like a voice that can tell a story and with power, subtlety and deft intonations can make me weak at the knees.

So without further ado (and a 3 day ban) here is my choice for the day.

And my other choice is a very strange collaboration with the wonderfully odd Nick Cave. A woman I have met and I was in lov, no, lust with! If only I liked her music. Maybe the bad 80s music would have been sweet music in my ears!

Unreal Andy.  I was just wondering yesterday how we got so far into this thread without The Who making an appearance.  You beat me to it.

Something a bit more risky from early teen days.  These guys are from my part of the UK.

They can't half fookin' play though.

Hear that, was not as transient as yourself so had ppl and places to store them at / with when I hopped around  Europe early on ....still missing a few class 33s and two o three 77s mind..

^ They do take up a hell of a lot of space, very heavy too..

Lucky to have an area underneath the house which is pretty much 21*C constantly, so if I stack them right there is no warp when 'layed down'.

Couldn't get onto that tune but listened to it till the end....

Maybe if I knew more about the tune / lyrics it would resonate more ?

Sweet choice MM, if ya wanna hear great guitar then listen to the 'Toys'..

You can just tell they love music and its process

If I remember right they did a version of 'God save the Queen' and the American anthem ..

"Oh, say can you see....etc"  :))
