    WGTicon:
My goal is to make it as wide as possible, so if 100cr buy-in, reduces participation, it's not something I'd prefer.

You wont get many more participating without putting it up on the main competition board...having the tiny link hidden in a thread that 99% of players dont read is where the problem lies.  imo

It needs to be "in your face" Not stumbled upon by chance.

    TallAcePaul:

I still don't know now what that green speed was, how the hell someone hit a 62 on that I cannot understand. Was it 2.5 times normal speed? Anyway I couldn't get close enough with my approaches to even threaten and had 30 winds in the face on both the par 5's so was stuffed. Bogeyed the first and then 2 birdies in the rest of the round. I actually did not enjoy that which is a pity.

i figured the speed to be double of the last one we played witch was 1.6 an this one to be 2.65,,, an still with them slow of greens was way to hard to even judge the brakes on the greens i was only lucky to get 4 nice wedge shots with in 8 to 10 feet an few lucky 15 footers to drop rest where 20 or more away an they just seem to be wack an made no sense what so ever...........

    thanks for the feedback everyone

    1. I wanted to do a trial run of this over the holidays just for forum guys and gals and any other word of mouth.

    2. I am not sure if we are going to do more or advertise under premium because these conditions are extreme and can be unfair at times

    3. I think it's more meant to be for fun rather than a way to earn credits and 50cr buy in, would just make it little interesting... I think we can keep it as such, to encourage more entrees.

    4. I think we can do cabo and whisler but I have to be careful... for example: #17 on whisler will not hold any ball anywhere near the green on fast speed...

I will keep experimenting and hopefully we can do another one of these :)

I am open to more feedback, of course, but I retail the right to chose the punishing conditions (you, of course, will be forewarned ahead of time)

I understand your reasoning for not putting this in the Premium Tourneys. People would sign up then complain to no end about the conditions from lack of knowledge. Having us find these in the forums will work fine if you carefully title the thread to attract more attention. Something like "Crazy Tourney Series Sign-Up/ Play At Your Own Peril" so folks have a better idea of what the thread is about. Also, let folks know that the rounds don't actually count toward average or stats so more people give it a go knowing they can't hurt their average.

If you do these things on a regular schedule, we can all inform our Country Clubs and pull in more entries ourselves. 50 credits is more than enough IMO. I never play for credits or wager of any kind but I played just because I wanted to get in on the fun of the challenge. Anything higher and I may not want to be included. I told myself it was a greens fee and could justify it to myself.

Overall I found it to be incredibly challenging and fun. I blew my stack during the 3rd round( took a 10 on Merion 6th hole) but fought off the urge to quit just to play the final round in UL. I'd do fast and slow greens each for regular and UL though. Having the slow only for the UL rounds made scores lower IMO. While I played RSG I kept thinking how much pain, blues, and agony could have been inflicted if the greens were super-fast in combination with the heavy wind and the UL.

Great idea and Great fun Icon. Lay them out there and we'll play no matter how much it hurts. :)

I didn't play, only found the resumeé part early enough.

I declined because of 2xUL and the 50 crs entry. Thought to myself, why pay prizes for others?

So, if it's meant for fun, why not reduce the prizes and reduce the fee, or offer it for free?

    WGTicon:

    question for you all..

If/when we going to do another version of this, would 100cr buy-in make any difference over 50cr buy-in?

My goal is to make it as wide as possible, so if 100cr buy-in, reduces participation, it's not something I'd prefer.

Two things...a 100cr buy in would be fine with me...and about a better announcement ( I know you mentioned for forum reader so as not to get others fooled) but if the tourney detailed could be expanded-which is needed BTW...heck, manytimes you can't tell an UEL tourney, ey..- but expand the details so folks know what thy are getting into...even a link to the forum, etc to give them an idea.

So yeah...I'm all for 100cr, and fine with 50-even free for bragging rights is fine, but also I'm for expanding the detailas and placing it in the game client window...maybe even a click of "eneter" first sends the player to the "Crazy green speed page" of facts:)

Anyways, great tourney Icon, tons of fun, and again sorry I bailed in R4, but 80/90 weeds was kicking my butt:)

Thanks WGTicon for this "new style" craziness tourney,  Regardless of my scores, I really enjoyed something different and challenging.  I can always tell my grandkids that I finished in the top 25 (even though that may be last place) LOL.  I hope you can do another one in 2014.

Dangit!  Lipped out the last two holes.  And I think I bent my putter.  That was like putting in an inch of wet snow...

All in all, good fun though.  Congratulations to everyone that played.  That certainly wasn't easy, and I'll confess to almost bailing in round 1.  But BIG congratulations to Piirikas!!  Well played sir.  It took all I had to even get close.

I'd be one of the people willing to pay more for tourneys like these, but I'm also fine with lower entry fees as well.  The challenge alone is worth the price of admission in my world.

You could have them in the regular premium section to attract more players, just label them as "EXTREME CONDITIONS" or something similar.  You can't really miss that one...

    Thanks Icon!  :-)
