I played a good round (for me, that is) and thought I'd check the leader board to see where I stood (I'm usually in the 3digits place, way, way down the line). I noticed a name right off the bat that I'd recognized from lower tier tournaments (I sometimes like to depress myself by seeing the hacks, ams, and pros shooting better scores than I can, so I peek in on the leader boards). Out of curiosity, I went to the person's profile and was dumb-founded. Level 99 Legend, avg. 162.63, yet atop the leader board(s). There are countless scores of 178 in monthly unlimited tournaments, then BAM!!!, mid 20's in 9 hole tournaments (not a par 3 or par 5 in the history, either). Then I noticed the stats:
RR's 2,828
FIR 3.56%
GIR 3.28%
eagles 13
birdies 769
pars 931
bogey 184
db bog 40
others 47,680
par 3 avg 8.70
par 4 avg 9.76
par 5 avg 10.79
Then (yes, it gets stranger), I noticed all 23 of this player's siblings (I'm assuming this because they ALL have same name, just different digits afterwards) are his/her only friends, and a few of them are ATOP some leader boards as well. A WGT Nation member, too. I couldn't care less about the MA's, but am curious as to why this player is sandbagging. I guess it's because of fear of becoming a TL. But, I thought that winning tournaments "by-passed" the stroke play average in determining advancement. Am I wrong (not for snooping, I don't care if I'm wrong there or not) about how a player can fly below the tier radar?
