My ranking/average has been stuck at 69 for quite a while now.  I typically only play match play and from what I've read, it seems that I need to win matches against players with a higher/better ranking/average than myself.  I've done that many times over the last few days yet my 69 hasn't gone down.

Just curious if there's something else I should be doing?  Thanks!!

To make any impact what so ever , you need to score below 35 for 9 or 69 for 18, in stroke play , not practice or par 3 or 5's

Interesting enough, you have had plenty additional influence on your average. Didn't you notice the changes?

In the 13 ranked rounds you played, the best score is a 69, and the calculated average is 75.5. Thus 6.5 points difference should result from matchplay against higher tiers (not level or average) or credit wins.

Having said that, at least the last two rounds of 70 and 71 should have lowered your average, too (subtract the offset above in the average calculation).

This looks like a steep slide towards Master - my best wishes for that feat. I hope that you are prepared to buy some new equipment then, all except the putter may need replacement eventually to adapt to the longer tracks. (Give it a try in a practice round, "hard" tees). Good to see that you have the right level for the G20s.

    Have fun!

thanks for that explanation...i did notice my average going down a month or so ago but feel like I've been stuck on 69 for a while...I usually only play those individual stroke play rounds myself when i don't have time to sit through match play...I enjoy the match play the most so I guess I shouldn't worry about my average????  I def will spend money on new stuff when i reach i higher level but for now I'll play with what i have and my plain old boring ball:))))  Thanks a ton

Never worry - it's but a game, and it's a gas when the shots come good, the company is good, the views are good...

...regardless of winning or average or tiers...
