Bluugh.  That was one hell of a game of 2 halves.  I was 5 under after 10 holes, the greens didn't seem much quicker than championship really.  Feeling pretty good.

Then the 12th, BPB #8.  Did somebody turn the green speed up from this point or what?  I took SEVEN putts on this green.   My first was from about 20 feet but the green seemed twice the speed of those before it.  I missed 2 or 3 times from under 5 feet when the ball just took off in the wrong direction.

And a really frustrating end after what I thought was a very good shot.  I punched with the wrong club after this shot and since the view from down there was so nice I had another visit to take my 5th shot.

Not pretty.  It might have been fun though, the jury's still out.

I don't know about stats but if you haven't reached saturation this tournament does effect your average.

    RIGHT...

lets give this a go, 4 UL rounds.no hay problema, if Icon can do it....:)

Just been beaten MP UL's by Wigertoods2010 on the same course..it seemed pretty easy if you can sink 15 footers and not hit any rough lol

    New Years Resolution...

( will I stand by that statement after hitting a 70% red box ? )

    We shall see......

    Andy

Lands 5 feet from the hole in 19 mph cross wind, and ends up ^

    I'm out of here,quicker than Pavarotti after a custard slice !!! :))

    Probably would have hit..5 x 12 = 60 + 133 = 193 divided by 1.85 + 2 ft for uphill.

    So 106 feet....

My bad, in wrong frame of mind to start the round after having been up 28 hours..

    GL all...hit well

Yikes, Andy, that was a tough break to roll all the way down there.

I just finished too. Was striking the ball beautifully early on, and if I'd managed to read the breaks properly on these superfast greens should have birdied the first 5, but missed a series of 6-9 footers. Then it all went a bit pear-shaped when I drove into the water on #6 (Kia 17) to go back to even, and then it was a struggle with my confidence trying to figure out those speeds. I got incredibly cautious, even managing to leave downhill putts well short. Nevertheless, I only had one 3 putt, on #13, and was heading for a scrappy par round when I somehow ended up with a very nice finish, birdieing 15, 17, and then holing the approach on 18 for a somewhat lucky 68. (card here for anyone interested)

Good luck to everyone giving this a go. It sure is a challenge! Once again, very impressive scores by our leaders.

    Good start on hole 1

Just guessed at factor for green speed, set me up for the round not having to worry about putts flying 50 feet by the hole.

Just hope I remember to play all the rounds now, very doubtful.

Too many 3 putts, but a moral victory of sorts...100% GIR...first time I've even done that in a UEL game.

    Edit:

I take that back, I had one putt from on the fringe.

Loved the 1st round, it was funny, with (only) a moment of real craziness at #3 with a DB, but after all, I'm happy, gd job Icon ;)

Good set up again, bit of advice, do not use backspin into the last green, ruined an otherwise scrappy round.
