There aren't any medium pins. You just get a mixture of hard and easy. Surely.

You can set up a tourney at Oakmont and specify what u like and u will get a mixture of both pin positions.

E.G. A matchplay tourney in my old CC, had me playing the second hole with both pin positions, front and back, so go figure.

To be be quite frank, there is no such thing as an easy or hard pin position, so long as u know where to put ur approach for the easiest putt.

Is the back pin on STA #2 any easier than the front, it's extremely hard to get close to the front unless u are skilled at hitting precisely the right distance to drift down the slope, but equally the back pin has a very hard putt to make however close u can land ur approach.

    imho

Leaving the approach shot on that slope is really asking for it on tourney or champ greens.
