I don't mind when I make a mistake on tournament play. However, on par 5 at Andrew's, my virtual golfer hit a second shot 30 feet without me touching the mouse. I don't think the game should golf it's own shots. Let me loose on my own. I do not need shitty shots given to me by the computer.

This will happen on occasions. Very rare but it can happen. Don't let it get to you. Nothing is perfect here. I have seen this a few times in my life of WGT. I don't believe it is WGT, it is just a fluke once in awhile. Cost me an Eagle once, but at least I made the bird. I chalked it up to the cup being half full and not half empty. Keep the faith and enjoy your friends, they understand.

Or it could be your mouse. Might be worth checking it out or trying another one.

Your golfer played a shot and your hand wasn't even touching the mouse, seriously?  Never heard that one before, spooky.

Yep me too, draw it back, it releases then clicks without any further input, mouse is done.

But he said he wasn't even touching the mouse, I take that to mean he didn't even have his hand on it at all, or am I taking his words too literally?

Maybe Scott, not sure?  I should point out that my mouse acted the way Slillico mentioned above.
