thought I would throw Clint is since he is the only black in country music except for Charlie Pride    lol

Although you're forgetting about Darius Rucker, and Ray Charles, might be why C&W is called "White Man's Blues".

In 1194, 100,000 ransom is paid for Richard I, King of England.

100,000 what?  Credits?  The kidnappers probably wanted a phone chat with MisterWGT.

Pieces of gold?  Silver?  Minutes on a midget porn site?

My guess ... gold, since the modem wasn't invented until the 20th century!

5 February ... something new for everyone.  I'm thinking of something that happened on this date.  It happened between 1830 and 1880, in the United States.

The first person to tell me what it is will receive a free sleeve of golf balls.  If it gets too hard for ya, I'll drop a few hints your way.

Best of luck ... now get Googlin!

A few birthdays to note on 5 February ...

A couple of sports legends ... both in their respective hall of fames ...

One played MLB baseball ... went by the name of "Hank" when he played.

The other played NFL football ... a QB, coached by "the man in the hat".

Then, of course, one of my favorite C&W singers ... Sara Evans is 43 today.

And a hint to the trivia for the golf balls ...

It was an invention ... and was patented on 5 February.

1861 Samuel Goodale patented the first moving picture peep show machine.... wonder if the first showing involved ancestors of Snow White's wee pals?

    :O)

Very close Johnny!  The invention I was thinking about was created a few years earlier ... and (hint) while it has been revised, is widely in use today (unlike the peep show machines).
