1838 - John Wilkes Booth ~ Known as an actor and member of the Booth family of stage actors. A nice looking, self consumed fella, a natty dresser and successful playboy type and Southern lover of the antebellum life style. Best only known now because he stupidly, but successfully was able to lodge a lead ball shot from a derringer into the head of President Abraham Lincoln who was dead 12 hours later. Booth ran for about two weeks, was cornered in a filthy barn and shot dead. A very sad portion of American history.
