Friday at 6pm UTC (10am WGT time) (in 11hrs and 45 mins from the time of this post)

Corwyn: Friday 10am local time.

Darren (Dazza501): Friday 6pm local time.

Nathaniel (natemakesaholein) & Devon (devonnnnn): Friday 1pm local time.

FYI everyone...

The process is already under way to determine week 2 four-ball Best-Ball series matches, with 'secret envelopes' with captains' line-ups.

This is the time to let me know asap if you have any changes to your schedule for week 2.

Please check your time availability on the spreadsheet here (the latest one used for the week 1 matches) and make sure I know what's new. Note that it really helps to find out which days don't work for you.

We already know that fmagnets will assume his spot in the team in place of his stand-in Priestess.

Hi Corwyn, a very slight change to my availability for week 2, I'm down as possible from 1:00am-2:00am on weekdays, i cannot play at that time now as my work hours have been adjusted slightly. Also Thursday 6th Feb is out for me.

Thanks for this Steve! I have you down as a 'possible' currently only for 1-2am at weekends (but from 11-midnight also as 'possible' weekdays).

I don't think it will matter, as you're not relying on that time to overlap with your partner anyway.

I'll not the Thursday exception. Thanks!

Our four-ball Worst-Ball match just ended, and it was a classic encounter. Some great golf, and some ugly holes too.

I'm really liking this format. It creates quite a bit of tension, as well as strategy.

I've thrown in the game-end screen, just to put some faces on things, and give it some color! And I'm delighted to see that the stats are available in this format, and make interesting reading, so please do share.

I started atrociously, throwing away the first hole by putting my first shot OB via the tree, and hitting the tree on my second. Perhaps I got metered, but really I think teeing off on the opening hole in my own tourney with an enticing wind and an ambitious shot option was too much pressure. Sorry for that stupid mistake Dazza!

Darren started beautifully, eagling the 2nd after a perfect approach. We got things back to A/S when Nate found an awful lie to the right of the 3rd. On #5 it was Dazza's turn to have a nightmare hole, when his approach stayed on the green all the way down at the bottom with the back pin, and it took 4 putts from there. A vicious sidehill downhill putt to win the hole turned into an 11ft save attempt that slid by.

Devon was Mr Consistency, playing beautiful, steady golf throughout, despite rarely being in the fairway, lol, and making a picture-perfect birdie on #5.

I came back strong, with 5 birdies after my disastrous 1st hole, and should have been 6 with a 5 ft miss on #6. Nate thought my near slam-dunk tee shot on #9 had ended the match in our favor (forgetting it was worst-ball). That would have been a nice one to save for later in the tourney, lol!

Good luck to everyone in the remainder of the wk1 matches! (and remember, no gimmes!)

Great game fellas! A/S was I think the right result in the end.

Edit: out of curiosity, had this been Best-Ball format, Team ROW would have won 2 UP, and have finished -7. Team USA would have been -5.

Great setup for this, wish I had been able to play in it. I'll keep my eye on the results.

I love the worst ball format. We used to have a real golf tournament at home that for for 36 holes over a weekend.

First 9 was a scramble, Second 9 was best ball, Third nine was Alt Shot and final nine was combined score. All in stroke play format, the final round was always nerve racking, waiting for your partner to screw up and launch one out of bounds or into a hazard (he was expecting you to do the same I'm sure).

Lots of interesting ways to make matches.

I believe everyone else in your group has confirmed that it will be tomorrow Saturday at 12 noon WGT time, 8pm UTC (i.e. 21 hours from now!):

Jon (jsweetcr): your 2pm local time.

Eric (LOLserver): your 9pm local time

Rock (KyRock75) & Icon (iconian): your 3pm local time.

Saturday at 3 pm my time works great for me. Will not know for sure if i might have to work until Friday otherwise should be a go.

Rock was going to learn today if he had to work tomorrow, but has not said anything so far, so you should assume it's going ahead as planned. Please do keep checking this thread though.

And remember, No Gimme's allowed! Please also assign one player per team to capture scorecards (and stats ideally as well) at the end.

It's a good practice to do a scorecard screengrab after every hole. I did that today; it gives security against any possible disconnects.
