  Ah, you'll have to forgive me, Johnny. Flying a US flag, and with the name Johnny Rebel led me to assume that you were hoping to join the US team!!! Sadly, we are full up for US players, but we'll keep you in mind for next time, or if we have need of alternates. If you'd like to fill out the Availability form, that would be helpful. Then we'll know if it will work to fit you in if needed.

  We have a kind offer in from my good friend Russ (ColumbusStorm) to co-captain the US Team...

  ... and he's looking for another volunteer to join him (he joked that when everyone saw his name up there, they'd know he'd need all the help he can get!).

  So, how about it, you experienced US players. Anyone willing to chip in and help Russ out?

  Sorry for taking so long to get back but I have had a busy week and hence my need for a few days to think about it. It is going to be impossible for me to play in this let alone Captain a side. I had thought that this was going to be 8 weeks away and then things may be different but at this moment in time I can't do it, it is virtually impossible for me to arrange playing times.

  Thanks for getting back to us Paul, and thank you for your honest assessment of your availability. You'll be a big loss to the ROW team... :(

  With Doug's kind offer above, we now have the 2 US co-captains: ColumbusStorm and Dougsda. I'm sure they'll be connecting shortly to confer on strategy and plot furiously!

  For the ROW team, I'm delighted to announce that Steve (SteveReilly) has stepped forward to be a co-captain, and I will join him (hoping that I don't end up with any conflict of interest in my organizer role as well).

  I'm anxious to get things rolling, thus the need to finalize captains today; my next step is to process all your availability data submissions. I hope to have all that ready by Monday morning (Pacific/WGT time), so please look out for the link to that spreadsheet to check that I have your details correct. I'll be asking for a quick confirmation that the details are right, and then the captains will set about providing their team pairings and order of play, and we'll see which matches fall together from that process. I hope to announce matches Monday, and get  the Worst-Ball Series under way; with firm scheduling for games this week ... realistically not before Tue/Wed with a deadline of the end of the weekend.

  Please keep an eye on PMs and this thread. Thanks!

  Sorry but i cannot play now because of work  commitments

  I am also still playing in the International 2014

  I would have loved to participate but do not want to let you all down with a no show

  I thought i would be able to do it but work has changed my shifts.........

  Thank you for your honest assessment of your commitments. It really is much better to know now if someone can't play, so thanks! And we will miss you!

  That now means the ROW team looks like this:

  ROW (12): Corwyn, Daskino, LOLserver, jsweetcr, Dazza501, johehejo & Fairwayruepel68, fmagnets (missing wk1), SteveReilly, WigerToods2010, OneEyedJohn, Bonalyau ...

  ... and, our first alternate, a new 'secret' signup via the availability form only (and thus hidden from prying US eyes, lol) is no less a player than the great Priestess!

  I know that you'll all think that I went out and got a ringer for 'our team' but honestly, it was as much a surprise to me as to you hearing it now. As a team, we have lost several of our first signups, mostly to the earlier scheduling of the tourney, so my apologies to all affected.

  Priestess will sub in for fmagnets for week1, and be our backup should any other scheduling issues arise. I joked with Russ (ColumbusStorm) that we had sebicu lined up as our next alternate  ;)

  The ROW Team captains (Steve and myself) have determined our pairings and line-up for the week 1 Worst-Ball series.

  If you're an ROW player you should have received a PM from me asking you to check the time entries against your name, and state any other exceptions to your availability over the coming week. I'll send out a similar set of PMs to all the US players shortly.

  The US captains (Russ and Doug) have been busy working with me this morning on their team pairings, and are finalizing their line-up. They too will provide a blind 'secret envelope' with their numbered list, and I'll negotiate that list against the one Steve has sent me.

  I hope to have actual matches lined up by end of today, so please do watch your Message box to see who you're set to play. Just a reminder, this series is 4-player 9-hole worst-ball, and will be played over the front 9 at Merion with specific conditions to be posted later today.

  Matches can start as soon as tomorrow, Tuesday, and as this is the first week, I'll add next Monday into our schedule for week 1 just in case we need a rain day. That said, I'd like everyone to commit to a specific time for your 4-player match, and be green at that time, and ready to play. This tourney can only work with everyone following their best intentions. Thanks!

  Thank u Cpn Corwyn for selecting me, I am honoured .

  I am good and ready to go, no issues this week, u may want to line up Priestess for any match after Feb 15 when I will be on my bike ( new hopefully , if Honda deliver on time )

  In fact I will be all too pleased to step aside for her, and even more pleased to pair up with her.. I have had the great pleasure of playing with Sebicu & Hanswurst through earlier UeL tourneys organised by u Cpn Corwyn, so to play with Priestess would absolutely top it off for me.

  Edit: gonna have a quick run around the Week 5 Uel 18 holer at Merion

  Made a 70, which is poor, but it had nothing to do wiv uneven lies, and everything to do wiv putting.. 33 of the damn things. 

  Honestly -  playing Merion is like revisiting a nightmare, I don't know how much of it I can take.
