Trying to get these down pat, and just played Beth #14 low winds in my CC.  2 MPH wind L - R, and aim moved just a fraction in to that wind.

I dinged a 7 iron with hardly any BS, and watched it sail almost pin high, but also almost 15 feet wide of the hole in to that wind.

So far I perceive that the overall good precision is good, but that these things are programnmed with a very unrealistic, score reducing, wayward walkabout function that gets unleashed too often especially with the mid irons.

We all know about the circle of deviation, but watching a dinged, hardly any BS, 7 iron veer that much off line, in a manner I did not get with the R11s is lunacy. Yes I do ding these a fraction more often than the R11s when I want to, but no gain because you get more (very unrealistic computer game) WTFs left and right of target line at least.

I think this has been kind of mentioned in passing before (and I do appreciate early days), but wondering if any one else is noticing this happening much compared to the R11s as well??

Basically as it stands, it's like a martial walking up and saying no need to take that shot sir, this hole you will be putting from over there across the slope ha ha ha ...ha. It's not very funny ha ha though, and from a $40 set of high precision irons seemingly happening too much with the mid irons.  I never see this with the short irons, and only sometimes with the long, but the mid irons, as I say, seemingly too much.

I do play the L81 Nike, but was not even using much BS this latest time.  I know some are saying the HL Nike balls may not be a good match, but with hardly any spin?? I can't believe any one would intentionally programme a new HL Nike iron set to be unplayable with the HL Nike ball either.  Mr. Nike would not be too pleased at that.

Like I say early doors fully accepted, but I do wonder what others are seeing?

    Hi

I have noticed that the meter speed on nike irons level 97 has increase a lot the past few days. Now it is just the same speed as the R11s. And a little more unstabil meter with more glitches...  Hard to hit ding these days!

And I still have the opionen, that I had much more feeling with the R11s and they were more relieable ( was that spell right?).

But yet still playing with the Nike irons, but not for much longer if it goes on like this...

    Not seeing that here.

    Nor that.

You are a way better player than me, but yes agree.  The Nikes seem very computer game mechanical some how, failing to capture the essence of the game in the same way that the R11s did - away from the ability to stick like glue of course which we all just accept. Early doors for me as say though.

Did you guys clean out your cache , after the last update ? You know we just had one a few days ago . You may need to to reset everything for the new adjustments.

    All that done.

I gotta believe it's the ball, Jim. I'm not seeing any of that with the 33Callaway. Maybe that little bit of spin got a max deviation, or something like that.

Jim, I have to agree with the other Jim here.

I made this comment 2 days into the lvl 97 nikes "The circle of precision is much smaller and more of an long oval now instead of Jupiter."

I have tested the following balls here. WGT GI3 D and S, Cally 33 and 34, Nike 48,71 and 81, and Max. I spent a fair amount of time in LW and NW conditions. It's important to point out that all the balls will rarely even in no wind, will rarely ever start out on the exact intended line. So I attempted to test to see which ball performed consistently line wise the best, and which ball ball performed consistently distance wise the best and tried to find a happy medium. My results as follows.

WGT balls are great at line and at distance but distance would be tough to map though due to inconsistent rollout, meter is hard to control and distance inconsistency with miss ding is hard to play or figure out. These balls with more practice and if played on extremely familiar courses and plenty of knowledge have the potential to play with the big boys. 8-10 foot circle of precision in my estimations

All the Nike balls, are good and similar in consistent distance but line fades the higher the level ball, best Nike ball for line is the lvl 48, followed by 71 and lastly 81.The 81 ball is the biggest line loser but tightest distance consistency in my tests with the exception of the odd balloon ball where i.e the 80 yard club will fly 90. 6-15 foot circle of precision (sideways oval for 81) in my estimations.

Max balls, second best here in my tests, line and distance just a little off in consistency. Gr8 putters will do well with these balls. 6-10 foot circle of precision in my estimations

Cally SM ball, good at distance however line is lacking and similar to or slightly better than the 81 Nike. 8-10 foot circle of precision in my estimations

Old Cally 33 ball good at distance and line is as close as the wgt balls, the best ball in my tests. New Cally 33 is very close but a little lacking in the line compared to the old ball but still better then any other ball here in distance and line combined. 5-10 foot circle of precision in my estimations.

Unfortunately I have to eat the 5 or so yards from the driver to get the consistency, and Cally 33 ball is hands down winner in all category's.

    There u have it.

I think the ball theory might be on the money.  Because of the slower meter I've been able to switch from the L81 Nike ball to the L71 ball (same specs for spin and distance but faster meter)...and so far so good.

Once I run through this batch of balls I'll probably give the L33 Cally's a try...used to use them all the time and have always liked them anyway.

If you have not tried the taylormade ball with the new clubs, you should.

I haven't used nikes very long but other than controlling the distance with the PW and 3i mine are right where I hit them....I have noticed the meter racing through the hitting area too so I pull out the R11's for a few hole...then it seems slow again.
