    Hello,

    I am wondering if someone can make a few recommendations for me, i just started and purchased a few credits and waiting for all the surveys but i want to get the most out of the credits i have already.  Any good purchases that will last quite a few levels?

    Thanks!

    I'd hold off until the mid-upper 30's levels, some good equipment is available there that will last quite a long time..shouldn't take long to gain 10-12 levels.

    +1!

    Some numbers as a guide:

    L32 = 12,900 XPs

    L42 = 32.400 XPs

    L59 = 88,500 XPs

    Unfortunately, the early driver & putter aren't the best buys, a 3WD from lvl 32 and two wedges from lvl 42 would be more efficient.

    For budget purpose, you might wanna exchange the expensive L1 Callaway for WGT B-ES or Tour-SD, if not Starter. Those high feel balls are expensive in every level, you better avoid conditioning to them.

    +1 to all the advice - wait.

    However if you have money to burn the R11s (and 10 sleeves of Nikes to me :))are a good set (around level 32) but the G20s are the best set in the earlier levels and does not take long to get there. My advice is to wait for the G20s.

    The biggest  difference  you will make to your score is from learning the game first, then perhaps adding 2 custom wedges (pings at level 42 are good)

    Get the the L15 Bladez. Those are good irons for the low levels. I used them as a tour pro and a Master. Those will last you until the L59 G20

    Alosso put together a list of low-level iron sets in this post.  In case the link doesn't work, here's the URL:  http://www.wgt.com/forums/p/215412/1540941.aspx#1540941

    As one that had the Bladez, while they are better than the starters, if you've ever played golf IRL, they play like used, worn-out clubs with absolutely no grip at all.

    I, for one, agree with MBagesse and Alosso.  Hang in there for those 30 levels clubs and save your credits.  Personally I like the R11 club set, but the other two sets on Alosso's list look pretty good.

    I used starter clubs until I was well into my 60s in level.  I'm glad I did.  It taught me how to play properly - so much that new clubs just added a little luster to my trophy.

    If you think you need clubs at this level to compete, it's a bad harbinger of later times on here.

    To each his own Mike, but I don't agree with this:

    MichaelStroke:

    The Starter driver plays quite well but is too short for quite a few holes from Pro tees - imagine STA#7 with a wee headwind.

    Starter 3WD is quite crappy, straying the balls all over the place.

    3H & irons may be tolerable, as is the Putter, except for it's balance. But the wedges don't allow for any good short game unless you know the game inside out.

    While I agree that classy clubs may start with the lower G20s, people have to keep up their fun to play until they get there, otherwise they'd turn away. In former days I'd have proposed the Raptures of lvl 47, but they are gone for good.

    Yes, it's not for free, yes, you'll need to exchange them probably at Master tier, but for someone who's ready to invest some for his leisure, it's not too bad to have quality clubs available at lvl 27 or lvl 32 (looking at the full sets). From there, it's still 70,000 XPs to lvl 59, two, three or more months of fun for 35 bucks + balls (add 12 $ for wedges and putter, a longer-lasting investment).

    I started just before Thanksgiving and maybe I can give you a few tips as it's fresh in my mind...

    The absolute best money spends are...

    The level 30 TaylorMade R11 3w at 395 credits. Best deal (maybe only) in the game. Just use it as your your driver for as long as you can.

    The level 48 Taylormade R1 driver. These two clubs will carry you until you need legend level length.

    The Ping G20 trons at 59 are great, it's the longest wait until these. I got the level 32TM R11 set because I had the credits and was impatient. I have upgraded today to the G20's because I had the credits and I am impatient lol!!.

    Taylormade ATV wedges at 38-40 or the Pings the come a couple levels later will be your next best upgrade after the 3W.

    I got the Level 33 Odyssey putter which was expensive, but will last until I get a Legend era putter.

    Play the cheapest ball you can for as long as you can. Good ones are so expensive. They gifted some Level 40 Nike RZN balls during the holidays and they we really nice, but at 600 credits a sleeve.. sheesh!

    The level 33 Callaway is 250 a sleeve which seemed to balance with about how many free credits I earned a day, but free credits have all but disappeared since they beginning of the year so being cheap on balls is twice as important.
